Railway track stolen near Sheikhupura
Three bogies of Shorkot-bound train derailed near Sheikhupura, trendpk.com reported on Thursday.
However, no loss of life or injury has been reported in the incident. Railway officials said that derailment was result of track plates theft the other night.
The work to repair the track has been initiated and it would be cleared till 2pm, they added.
Punjab: Another 45 dengue patients reported
Surge in the number of dengue patients continued across the country as another 45 affectees have been brought to the hospitals in the last 24 hours in Punjab alone, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
In the last 24 hours a staggering number of 183 patients have been tested positive for dengue fever, raising the total figure of dengue affected patients to a whopping 1,700.
Eleven more cases from cities other than Lahore have also been reported, pushing up the number of patients suffering from dengue fever to 1,359. Fumigation is underway across the country.

Hyderabad: Railways restores damaged track
The rail traffic at Tando Jam Railways track near Detha in Hyderabad has been restored after swift repair work in the wake of a powerful blast that damaged the track on Tuesday.
The blast had caused damage to the down railway track, suspended the train service to Karachi. The train service had been suspended owing to damages and repair work at railway track. Bahauddin Zakria train had been stopped, which has now been granted permission to continue journey to Karachi.According to police sources, no casualties were reported in the blast. It should be mentioned here that two blasts yesterday damaged the portion of rail track that lies between Kotri and Hyderabad. Four people have been reported injured. The explosives were planted onto the tracks leading to and from the city.
Lahore: Plastic bag factory burns in Shahdara

LAHORE: A plastic bag manufacturing factory has been burn in Shahdara, Lahore on Wednesday.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, a short circuit of power cables caused the fire in the small factory, made in a house in Shahdara.
After the short circuit, the plastic bags manufacturing raw material caught fire. The Rescue 1122 team arrived at the scene immediately and controlled the fire within half an hour.
Except for material loss, no one has been reported hurt in the incident. SAMAA
Intermittent rains continue across country
KARACHI: An irregular spate of rains caused by fresh winds of monsoon are continuing to lash almost all parts of country including Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab provinces and northern areas, Geo News reported.
As usual, the cruel downpours have sent people in misery, as there is no electricity and no water in many areas, paralyzing the routine of daily life.
All the low-lying areas in Balochistan’s industrial areas namely Hub and Gadani have submerged under water whereas drains, meant for rainwater, have been flooded.
Incessant downpours have largely affected traffic on RCD Road, which links Quetta to Karachi.
At least two persons have died of electricity shocks due to rain in Karachi, police said.
Electricity failure has been reported in many parts in Hyderabad following spree of intermittent rains, which remained continued since Monday evening while low-lying areas are in flood.
The spate of monsoon rains is also continued in Badin, Dadu, Golarchi, Matli, Tandobago, Talhar and in all the rural and urbane areas located in upper Sindh.
Rains have also left electricity system suspended in Jamshoro district.
Pleasant showers have been reported in many areas in Punjab including Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Kohat, Dera Ghazi Khan, Manserah, Bala Kot and Ogi.

ISLAMABAD: Various casualties have been reported in a gas pipeline blast here, Geo News reported Wednesday.
11 hurt in Islamabad gas pipeline blast
ISLAMABAD: At least 11 people have been reported injured in a gas pipeline blast here, Geo News reported Wednesday.
According to Geo News correspondent, at least 11 people were injured in an explosion of gas pipeline at a hotel of a Karachi company.
Some nearby shops also caught fire following the blast.
There is no confirmed report about fatalities thus far.

Low intensity blasts occurr in Raiwand
LAHORE: Two low intensity blasts have happened in a café in Raiwand, police said Saturday.
SSP Saddar Division Rana Mansoor said both blasts took place near a café.
However, no casualties have been reported in the explosions.
