US Drone Strikes kill 8 in North Waziristan

MIRAN SHAH, trendpk: At least eight persons were killed and several injured in strikes by pilotless US spyplanes in tehsil Mir Ali of North Waziristan tribal region on Tuesday.

The drones fired missiles at two houses in Ghulam Khan area of Mir Ali killing eight persons and injuring several others, sources said. The injured have been shifted to hospital.

The sources fear increase in death toll in drone strikes.

The region was also targeted yesterday in which 21 persons were killed.

2 killed, 29 injured in jumbled cars crash in Charsaddha & Multan

A bout of heavy fog caused a pile-up of 30 cars and lorries at both Multan and Charsadda-Peshawar, which left at least two people dead and injured 29 others.

According to the police, two people died in an accident that occurred six kilometers away from Charsadda. The injured and the dead have been shifted to the DHQ Hospital Charsadda and other Peshawar hospitals.

Traffic on the Charsadda-Peshawar motorway was totally paralyzed shortly after the fog fell and caused a series of accidents.

similarly, around 30 cars jumbled at Bahawalpur Road, Multan as a result of which some 25 people got injured. The injured have been shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan. Rescue 1122 and police are making efforts to remove the destroyed vehicles from the site. In other parts of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa freezing conditions and heavy snow is causing problems with major roads being forced to close.

Three killed in Bannu Blast near Meelad Park

BANNU, News Trends: At least three policemen were killed in suicide attack over a police van in Bannu.

A suicide bomber blew up his explosives near Meelad Park in Bannu on Tuesday killing three policemen in a police van and injuring several others.

The injured have been shifted to district headquarter hospital Bannu, where some injured were said to be in precarious condition.

Police have cordoned off the area and launched search operation.

The investigators have found head and legs of the suicide bomber.

Suicide bomber injures eight in South Waziristan

WANA: A suicide blast at a market in Shakai area of South Waziristan left at least eight people injured on Sunday.

According to sources, the blast took place at a market in Shakai, 25 kilometer north of Wana.

Casualties are also feared in the attack.

Gujrat:Wagon-truck collision leaves 8 dead

A wagon and a truck collided near Gujrat due to which 8 passengers got killed and 5 were injured.
According to police, the wagon coming from Rawalpindi collided with a truck coming from the opposite side near Thaikriyan. Resultantly, 8 passengers died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Waris, Amir, Abdul Baseer, Shahbaz, Abid, Sardar Ali, Iftikhar and Waris. The injured have been shifted to Aziz Bhatti Hospital Gujrat; whereas one of the injured girl is stated to be in critical condition.
The truck driver managed to escape after the incident.

Peshawar: Four die in crossfire

At least four people have been killed, while two others injured in a crossfire at Hayatabad Industrial Estate, Peshawar on Friday.
Police said that a Jirga was being held at a factory to resolve a dispute between two owners of the factory. During the negotiations both the parties got furious and resorted to exchange of fire. Resultantly, four men got killed while two others received injuries.
The wounded have been shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex.

Gujranwala: Four perished, 16 hurt in lorry-bus collision

At least four people have been killed while 16 others injured in a collision between an oil tanker and a bus in Gujranwala on Thursday.
The accident occurred when the driver of the bus, bound for Gujrat from Gujranwala, lost control over the vehicle due to overspeeding and struck into the oil tanker parked by roadside near Dhonkal Mor. The injured have been shifted to DHQ Hospital.

Train-rickshaw collision kills 5 in Multan

MULTAN: At least five people were killed as train crashed into a rickshaw in Shujabad area of Multan, SAMAA learnt Monday.

According to sources, a Multan bound Alam Express hit a rickshaw when it was crossing railway line near Basti Dad in Shujabad, as a result, five passengers including three women were killed. While two children jumped from rickshaw to save their lives.

Dead bodies have been shifted to District Headquarter Hospital, Shujabad, SAMAA

Kurram Agency:16 killed In Firing On Convoy

At least 16 people have been killed when some unidentified miscreants opened fire at a passengers convoy in Kurram Agency on Saturday.
Sources said that a caravan was going to Peshawar from Upper Kurram along with the security forces’ convoy, when some unknown felons opened fire at them near Char Khel, Upper Kurram.
Resultantly, 16 people got killed while four other injured.
The wounded have been shifted to a nearby hospital of whom two are said to be in a critical condition. The political administration shifted the dead bodies to Chapri checkpost. Two cars also destroyed in the attack.
Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
