SAHIWAL: The sugar crisis has deepened further in Pakistan as the price, in different parts of the country, has climbed to Rs. 130 per kilo gram on Tuesday.
According to market sources, the sugar price in Sahiwal and Khanewal has been mounted to a record high level of Rs. 130 per kg. In Lahore, it is being sold on Rs. 105-110 per kg but sugar is not available on the majority of the shops and Utility Stores.
In other cities, including Mianwali, Vehari, Okara and Toba Tek Singh, sugar is costing Rs. 110-120 per kg.
The shopkeepers of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are selling sugar on Rs. 111 per kg. In Quetta, being sold on Rs. 115 and in Peshawar it is available on Rs. 120 per kilogram. Trend Pk

LAHORE: During last 24 hours, the price of sugar has mounted up by rupees 5 per kg in Lahore.
According to details, in various parts of Punjab including Lahore, the retail price of sugar has climbed to Rs. 96 to 98 per kg while in whole sale market it is being sold on Rs. 93 to 94 per kg.
This latest increase of Rs. 5 per kg, in sugar price, is considered to be a record of 24 hours’ price hike as yesterday sugar’s whole sale price was Rs. 86 and the retail price was Rs. 92 per kg. Trend Pk
Sugar being sold at Rs 96 per kg
Delay in the crushing season forced the hoarders and black marketers to store sugar, while the price of the commodity witnessed a continued steep rise.
Sugar is being sold at Rs96 per kilogram.
Rates of the commodity have been risen ten times in the last month while no check on hoarding cause price hike.
As per market sources, a 100kg sugar sack is being sold at Rs 8,650 at factory rate.
Cotton prices hit fresh high
Cotton prices hit a record high both in global and local markets with $1.29 rise in New York market.Rates of cotton in Pakistan also shot up as a maund was being sold at Rs8,500 with an addition of Rs 100. Cotton was up by 30 percent in the international market in a month. Due to the recent devastating floods, cotton production in Pakistan has reduced drastically, below than the domestic industrial needs.

PARACHINAR: A bomb exploded at a meeting of tribal elders in Kurram region near the Afghan border on Monday, killing seven people, a government official said.

KARACHI: As people witnessed a rise in price of food items with the advent of Ramazan, the cost of flour has also been increased by Rs. 2.5 per kilogram, said sources on Monday.
After the recent increment, flour ex-mills price was allocated at Rs. 30 per kilogram.
The flour supply to the mills has been shortened after the agricultural sector was damaged by floods and crops were destroyed.
Flour is being sold at a cost of Rs. 32 per kilogram in the wholesale market, while its retail price has reached at Rs. 35 per kilogram. SAMAA
Wheat’s 79 kg bag down by Rs.100 in Sindh
KARACHI: After the announcement to slash by Rs.100 in wheat’s 79-kilogram sack from Sindh Flour Mills Owners (SFMOs) on Friday, the new price of 79-kg bag has reached to Rs.2100, Geo news reported.
The Chairman Flour Mills Association (FMA) of Sindh circle Mohammed Yusuf told Geo news, after this announcement, the 10-kg flour bag will be available all across province at Rs.270 having been down by Rs.8 from Rs.278.
According to wheat broker sources, the 100 kilogram wheat is being sold at Rs.2260 in open market in Karachi while the same amount of wheat is available at Rs.2190 in interior Sindh.
Hike in Oil Prices Announced
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has issued notification for increase of Petroleum prices. After the increase of Rs 6.10 the new Petrol price is Rs 71.21 per liter while Light Diesel after an increase of Rs 2.97 stands at Rs 61.07 per liter.
Kerosene Oil stands at Rs 64.06 per liter after an increase of Rs 3.32, High Speed diesel increased by Rs 3.33 and is being sold at Rs 71.89 per liter and HOBC increased by Rs 7.31 stands at Rs 89.33 per liter.
