Karachi: Munter reiterates US take on drone strikes
Terming the drone attacks as part of war on terror, US envoy to Pakistan Cameron Phelps Munter has assured Pakistan of all-out support in this regard, Dunya News reported on Friday.
Talking to media after paying homage to Qauid-e-Azam at his mausoleum at Karachi, Munter said I want to strengthen the bilateral ties between the US and Pakistan, and wished that the people of both the countries also respect each other.
The envoy said that instability in Afghanistan would harm Pakistan too but assured complete support to the latter in the ongoing war on terror. He said that Donors Conference would be held in mid November. He said that the US wanted to boost trade ties with Pakistan. He thanked the people of Pakistan for extending a warm welcome to him on his arrival here. Munter was flanked by his wife and US Consul General William Martin.
Chaudhry Shujaat was not part of NRO deal, says Patterson
US envoy to Pakistan has said that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was not a part of NRO deal between Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto and hence NRO related allegations on him are false.A banquet was organized in honor of the US envoy to Pakistan N.W. Patterson in Islamabad by PML-Q. Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that N.W. Spokesman of ex-president General (R) Pervez Musharraf, Rashid Qureshi has termed the statement of US Envoy irresponsible and unnecessary. He added sarcastically that the US Envoy was never invited by General Musharraf in any of the cabinet meetings however if Chaudhry Shujaat had invited her in any meeting then it would be better to ask him about the matter.

Hamid Karzai Due In Islamabad Tomorrow

Afghan President Hamid Karzai would arrive in Pakistan tomorrow on a two-day visit.
Karzai would be visiting the country for the first time after being elected as president for the second term. During his stay, Karzai would meet President Zardari and PM Gilani.
The foreign ministry said that the said visit would boost the bilateral ties between the two countries.

David Miliband, FM Qureshi Discuss Bilateral Issues
PORT OF SPAIN, Pakistan News: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and British Foreign Secretary David Miliband held meeting to discuss the issues relating to strengthen bilateral ties here on the sidelines of European Union Conference on Saturday.
Issues relating to strategic dialogues and promotion of bilateral ties came during discussion, sources said.

Hillary Clinton Meets President Zardari
NEW YORK: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called on President Asif Ali Zardari here at a local hotel on Thursday.
According to sources, two leaders exchanged views on the matters relating to bilateral ties of two nations, ongoing war on terrorism and situation of regional and international peace besides; President Zardari also thanked Clinton over the approval of Kerry-Lugar aid bill from US Senate.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Pakistan envoy to US Hussain Haqqani were also present during the two leaders’ meeting, sources said.
