Ram Charan Teja in Zanjeer remake
South superstar Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja will be making his Bollywood debut with the remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Zanjeer. The remake will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
Ram Charan Teja is a huge star down south and is very selective about the films he does. His film Magadheera broke all records and ran for an uninterrupted 300 plus days, and became the highest grossing Telugu film industry.
When we contacted director Apoorva Lakhia, he confirmed the news saying, “Yes, I am directing the remake of Zanjeer with Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja stepping into Mr. Bachchan’s shoes. The actress to be paired opposite him is yet to be decided.”
The first schedule of the film is slated for the month of April.
Sachiin Joshi to romance Mallika Sherawat
Sachiin Joshi, who made his Bollywood debut with action thriller Aazaan last year, is all set to romance Mallika Sherawat in his next film. The film is a hard-hitting thriller based on the subject of dance bars and will be directed by Ankush Bhatt, who directed last years Bhindi Bazaar Inc.
Sachiin will be seen playing the role of a quirky cop and Mallika Sherawat will be portraying the role of a bar dancer. The film will go on floors in March this year.
Apart from this, Sachiin has also signed Soham Shah’s next I’m Charles, loosely based on the life of conman Charles Sobhraj. Sachiin is likely to romance 16 actresses in this film. I’m Charles will go on floors in August this year.
Prachi Desai to be the brand ambassador of Taj Mahal Tea
Prachi Desai is one of the few people who have set an example of TV stars turning successful film stars. After having made her debut with Rock On, she went on to do films that consolidated her position in the Bollywood that she is enjoying today.
It’s only due to her sheer determination and hard work, that she has now become one of the sought after actresses in the tinsel town today. According to News Trends‘s reliable sources, Prachi Desai is now all set to be the brand ambassador of Taj Mahal Tea, in which she will be featuring with Saif Ali Khan.

The Dirty Picture team wins legal tussle against Silk Smitha’s brother
It may be recalled that Ekta Kapoor’s home production The Dirty Picture directed by Milan Luthria had found itself in the midst of a controversy a few weeks ago when V Naga Vara Prasad (brother of Silk Smitha) had sent a legal notice to the makers of the film for not taking permission from him before going ahead with the film. Vara Prasad was irked that the film projected his late sister Silk in an obscene manner.
The case was heard in the Andhra High Court and the Court has dismissed Vara Prasad’s writ petition yesterday and gave the makers of The Dirty Picture a clean chit to go ahead with the release as scheduled.

Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma signed for Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum
Riteish Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor are back with the sequel of their 2005 super hit comedy Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, produced by Ekta Kapoor. The sequel is called Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum and will be directed by Sachin Yardi, the writer of the original. Yesterday was the mahurat of the film.
Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias have been finalised as the leading ladies opposite Tusshar and Riteish in the sequel. Both the actresses are one film old in Bollywood – Neha had earlier starred opposite Emraan Hashmi in Crook- It’s Good To Be Bad while Sarah was seen opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Game.
Confirming the news, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures, Tanuj Garg, posted on his twitter page, “The stunning Neha Sharma & sexy Sarah Jane-Dias cast opposite at TusshKapoor & at Riteishd in our keenly awaited Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum – kskhh”
The film also stars Chunky Pandey.
Salman to star in Atul Agnihotri’s next, remake of Telugu film Dookudo
Mahesh Babu’s current Telugu blockbuster Dookudo is now being remade with Salman Khan in the lead. Mahesh Babu has made it known to the film’s makers that Salman is the best person to play the lead in the Hindi version of the film.
After Bodyguard, Salman’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri will now produce another film with Salman in the lead. Salman Khan will now star in another South Indian remake, this time of the Telugu film Dookudo which features Mahesh Babu in the lead.
Salman’s sister Alvira is expected to fly down to Hyderabad to seal the deal this month.
Confirming this, Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar says, “Yes Baby (Alvira Khan) is flying down soon about Dookudo. The film is very special for Mahesh. And he wants Salman to do the Hindi version.”
Harman’s long-delayed film gets new lease of life thanks to Genelia
It’s My Life just got a new lease of life. Thanks to the favourable reports and response to Genelia D’Souza’s performance in her new release Force, suddenly Harman Baweja’s long-delayed release, It’s My Life, has become an urgent issue with producer Boney Kapoor and director Anees Bazmee.
According to very reliable sources, Genelia’s success in Force is just the window that the producer and director were looking for to release It’s My Life. The film is being spruced up big time.
Says the source, “Genelia’s is the third-most important role in It’s My Life after Nana and Harman. Ways are being devised to enhance Genelia’s presence in the film. A song is being added to the film. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have been asked to create a sizzling new number for Genelia to sizzle to.”
Apparently, the Bon Jovi anthem ‘It’s My Life’ was being considered as the special add-on to the film.
But Shankar Mahadevan denies the Bon Jovi connection. “We are doing a new title song for It’s My Life. We’re exploring various possibilities. But Bon Jovi is not one of them.”
Anees admits the film is being spruced up. “We are definitely releasing the film finally on January 13. Yes we’re adding a song. I am not aware of how successful Genelia’s new film is. But yes, success of any kind does help the next picture, issmein koi shaq nahin hai.”
Sanjay Dutt gifts bike worth Rs. 25 lakhs to Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday celebrations made headlines for the guest list of invitees who arrived at the do. However Sanjay Dutt, who has earlier proclaimed his affinity for the young star, made a dashing entry at the party to present the birthday boy with a special gift.
Dutt presented Ranbir with a red Harley Davidson bike worth approximately Rs. 25 lakhs. The two actors have been neighbours for years now and while Ranbir looks up to Dutt as an idol figure, Dutt has more than a liking towards him post offering him the lead role in the remake of his father’s film Mujhe Jeene Do.

Madhuri Dixit to shift back to Mumbai
There is good news for all Madhuri Dixit fans. After living in Denver, USA for all these years after marriage, Bollywood’s dhak-dhak girl has now decided to relocate to India.
Madhuri quit Bollywood when she was at the top of her game, a shockingly unconventional move in an industry where stars hang around much after their time is up.
She moved to Denver in US, after she married Dr. Shriram Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon in 1999. She lived a simple life of anonymity there with her husband and two sons Arin and Ryan; though she kept visiting India to fulfill her work commitments.
Madhuri’s last film was YRF’s Aaja Nachle in 2007. She also appeared as one of the judges in reality dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ this year and is currently also associated with leading Chef Sanjeev Kapoor for the Food Food channel.
Madhuri does not plan to buy a new house and intends to stay in her Juhu apartment with her family when she shifts here. She is now working on turning it into a kid-friendly pad. She has also begun looking for a school for her kids Arin (Class 3) and Ryan (Class 1).
She posted on her twitter page, “For all my fans, we r relocating to India! It will b good to b back home.”
