Boman Irani signs up as brand ambassador of Kent RO water purifier
They say that ‘Age is just a number’. This saying is very much true in the case of Dr. Asthana aka Veeru Sahastrabudhhe aka the multi talented Boman Irani. He may have entered the film industry a bit late in his life but to say that he took it by storm would be an understatement. Boman Irani is the highly loved actor of Indian cinema whose every performance is like a work of art. So convincingly he performs his roles that it’s hard to figure if he moulded into the character or whether the character is a part of him.
After having ‘been there, done that’, Boman has now been signed up as the brand ambassador of Kent RO water purifiers, so informs the confirmed sources of Bollywood Hungama. With this, Boman joins the likes of Kent’s already existing brand ambassadors, viz., Hema Malini, Esha Deol and Aahana Deol.
Ranbir, Aishwarya, Shabana and Boman win Teacher’s Achievement Awards
The 10th edition of the prestigious Teacher’s Achievement awards was a glitzy glam event as it showcased some of the most envious names in the industry. These nominees were short listed after an evaluation process by the members of the advisory board; comprising of eminent personalities from the fields of business, entertainment, sports and communication.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shabana Azmi and Boman Irani were few of the Bollywood celebs honoured with the Teacher’s Achievement Award at a function held in Mumbai over the weekend.
Ranbir Kapoor received the Teacher’s Achievement award in the Entertainment category. He felt a sense of gratitude that his work was recognised and appreciated.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was honoured with Teacher’s People Achiever award which she dedicated to her dad Krishnaraj Rai. The People’s award was special for her because it reflected the love the audience has for her work.
Boman Irani bagged the Achiever of the Decade Award while his co-star from Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and veteran actor Shabana Azmi was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kunal Kapoor signed up for Don 2
Here is good news for all the Don fans. Farhan Akhtar is back to the job of making a sequel to the successful remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s Don. As reported earlier, Arjun Rampal won’t be starring in this project. Because of some differences he has left the project and the worthy replacement is none other than the Rang De Basanti hunk Kunal Kapoor.
Expressing his sheer delight on being part of the project Kunal tweeted, “Yes, I am doing Don 2.. Very excited!! Really looking forward to working wit King Khan and Farhan ( how nice, tht rhymes )”. From the original cast, the sequel will have Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Priyanka Chopra and Om Puri. Kunal has quite an important role to play and this is probably his chance to shine among some of the biggies from the industry.
3 Idiots Breaks Ghajini Records

MUMBAI: 3 Idiots Breaks Ghajini Records Ghajini , Aamir Khan starrer comedy-drama “3 Idiots” has created a record by grossing over Rs.100 crore in its first four days. Reliance BIG Entertainment, distributor of the film, released about 2,000 prints across 40 countries.
Based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller “Five Point Someone”, the film has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
“We are privileged to have been associated with ‘3 idiots’ and its immensely talented team led by Vinod, Aamir and Raju. The ramp-up to Rs. 100 crore in 4 days is phenomenal and we are confident that the film will continue to blaze new records in the weeks to come,” Amit Khanna, chairman, Reliance Big Entertainment, said in a statement.
Added Chopra: “Response has been overwhelming from all over the world. Aamir, Raju and I knew from the responses earlier on that people liked the film but this is something else? We have got reports from places like Australia that they have reduced ‘Avatar’ shows and increased ours.”
Released on Dec 25, its box office collection has beaten the initial earnings of another Aamir starrer “Ghajini”, considered Hindi cinema’s highest grosser till date, with 30 percent more earnings till Sunday night.
“‘3 Idiots’ is the highest grossing Hindi film ever in Australia on its opening weekend. Similarly in the US, I have been given to understand that ‘3 Idiots’ would be highest ever for a Hindi film,” said Chopra.
The paid previews of the movie also garnered over Rs.9 crore worldwide, above those of the paid preview collections of “Ghajini” that was Rs.7 crore globally.
The film, which reportedly cost Rs.80-100 crore, also stars R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles.
