KARACHI: MQM lawmakers on Sunday distributed gifts among dozens of children affected by the deadly bomb attack on CID building.
MNA Khushbakht Shujaat and MPA Muqim Alam met the children at Khidmat Khalq camp set up at the bombed building.
A magic show was also held on this occasion.

BAGHDAD: A suicide bomber blew himself up in an Iraqi cafe usually packed with Shi’ite Kurds in a town northeast of Baghdad on Friday, killing at least 10 people and wounding 30, a police spokesman said.
The attack took place in the town of Balad Ruz, roughly halfway to the Iranian border from the volatile city of Baquba, said Major Ghalib Attiya, a spokesman for Diyala province police.
The blast was the first major suicide bomb attack to occur in Iraq for several weeks, as political factions continue to tussle over positions and power almost eight months after an inconclusive election. AGENCIES
Three soldiers killed in South Waziristan
Militants attacked a Pakistani military convoy on Tuesday, killing three soldiers in the tribal badlands of Waziristan on the Afghan border, a security official said.
The attack took place in the Kalundar Keley area of South Waziristan, about 60 kilometres (37 miles) north of the district’s main town Wana.
Militants attacked a security force patrol on Tuesday in Kalundar Keley area, killing three troops and wounding two others, a senior security official in the area told.
The official said an earlier roadside bomb attack in the same area wounded two more soldiers. A second security official confirmed the deaths.

Quetta: A remote controlled bomb attack failed to blow a police van in Hazar Ganji, Quetta on Tuesday.
According to police sources, a Shalkot Police Station mobile was doing its routine rounds in Hazar Ganji when a nearby bomb went off.
The van was partially damaged in the blast; all policemen onboard remained unhurt.
After receiving information, police and rangers reached the scene immediately and cordoned off the area. SAMAA

NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said the soldiers “died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan,” referring to roadside and remote-control bombs laid by the Taliban.
The nationalities of the dead were not given, according to policy.
The United States and NATO have almost 150,000 troops in Afghanistan, battling an insurgency launched soon after the Taliban’s 1996-2001 regime was overthrown in a US-led invasion. AGENCIES

MACH: A gun and bomb attack on Central Jail in Balochistan’s city of Mach killed two prisoners on Saturday.
According to sources, two prisoners were planting a remote-controlled bomb device, which went off, killing Ghaus Bux and Abdullah on the spot.
Following the blast, guards on duty opened intense firing, injuring some other prisoners.
Later, paramilitary Frontier Constabulary personnel reached the scene to take control of the situation.
Sources said jail authorities are reluctant to share details of the incident. SAMAA

KABUL: Four US soldiers were killed Saturday in a Taliban-style bomb attack, NATO said, as the death toll of foreign soldiers in the Afghan war climbed closer to the 2,000 mark.
NATO”s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said the four died following an attack with an improvised explosive device, or IED, the main weapon deployed by the Taliban in their insurgency.
An ISAF spokeswomen confirmed the four were Americans. The incident took place in southern Afghanistan, where the war is at its fiercest, an ISAF statement said.
