At least nine people were killed when a car bomb exploded outside a church in the northern Egyptian city of Alexandria.

More than 20 others were reported to be injured in this incident. The attack triggered clashes between Christians and Muslims who pelted each other with rocks. Some cars were also set ablaze as a result of these clashes. Authorities stepped up security after a group linked to Al-Qaeda in Iraq threatened the church in Egypt. The Egyptian Interior Ministry says an investigation into the bombing is underway.

Dead body found in rubble of CID building

KARACHI: An unidentifiable dead body was found from the rubble of the CID building, which was completely devastated in the truck bomb blast Thursday night.

The powerful blast also damaged several other buildings nearby.

Efforts are underway to find and pull the trapped bodies out of the gutted building.

At least 21 people, including six policemen, were killed and over 100 wounded in the worst terror attack to hit Karachi.

Meanwhile, owners of the other damaged buildings demanded that the government makes early arrangements for reconstructing their houses.

The Sunni Tehrik, along with the Jafria Alliance and Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen, announced a three-day mourning besides a call for protest over the twin suicide blasts hitting Abdullah Shah Ghazis shrine.
The toll from yesterday’s suicide attack rose to 9.
Meanwhile, in view of the bombing threat, security has been beefed up at all the shrines and mosques, Imam Barghas across the country.
Heavy police contingent are patrolling the main routes in all the big cities to maintain peace during Juma prayers.
Two suicide bombers ripped through shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Karachi on Thursday, killing at least nine people and injuring 60 others. Taliban claimed the responsibility of attacks.

According to reports of a British newspaper, one of the FBI’s most wanted terrorists was killed alongside a Briton in a drone attack in Pakistan in September targeting Al-Qaeda operatives planning a Mumbai-style attack in Europe.
Fahd Mohammed Ahmed Al-Quso, 35, allegedly met two of the September 11 hijackers and was said to be involved in the bombing of the USS Cole. He was thought to be with the radical preacher Anwar Al-Awlaki in Yemen but reports from Pakistan suggested he had been killed there.
Another senior Al-Qaeda commander Sheikh Fateh al-Masri, also known as Abdul Razzaq, was also reported killed in the drone attack in Datta Khel, near Miranshah in North Waziristan.

Pakistani charged with unwittingly funding NY bomb plot

A man in New York was arrested and charged with running an illegal business that helped fund the attempted Times Square bombing earlier this year.
According to details, Mohammad Younis was accused of passing on thousands of dollars to Faisal Shahzad in a bid to bomb Times Square on May 1. Prosecutors said they had no indication that Younis knew the money would be involved in preparations for the bombing.
Younis pleaded not guilty in federal court in Manhattan to charges of conducting an unlicensed money-transmitting business and of conspiracy. He faces a maximum of five years in prison on each charge.
It is pertinent to mention here that Younis was released after the hearing on the condition that he post a $100,000 bond by Sept. 22.

British ambassador to Yemen escapes bomb attack

SANAA: The British ambassador to Yemen on Monday escaped a bombing in Sanaa believed triggered by a suicide attacker but the blast killed an unidentified person, a security official said.

“The ambassador was not hurt” in the attack that targeted his convoy as it headed towards the embassy, said the security official who requested anonymity.

He said that the attack is “believed to be a suicide attack” adding that one person, whose identity has not been determined, was killed.

Witnesses insisted that the bombing was a suicide attack, saying that the bomber was a bit slow in targeting the diplomat”s vehicle and that the attacker”s body was torn to pieces.

Timothy Achille Torlot is the current British ambassador to Yemen according to the embassy”s website.

Jim Koch, founder and owner of the Boston Beer Co., the maker of Sam Adams, says he is launching a personal campaign and starting a petition to begin a movement for the national holiday.

Koch said if Patriot’s Day was a national holiday, more Americans would understand the nation’s “revolutionary spirit” and how much the Founder Fathers risked their lives.

He said Patriot’s Day would be a reminder about the creation of a modern democracy.

The CCTV camera installed at M-Block, Model Town, recorded that the blast outside SIA office took place immediately after the entry of a double cabin via Faisal Town.
It is suspected that the abovesaid vehicle has been used in the bombing; however, the eyewitnesses maintained that a single cabin car was used by the terrorists.
