ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has convened the federal cabinet meeting on coming Tuesday (November 30) where the transfer of five ministries from the centre to the provinces would be approved, Trend Pk reported Thursday.
The chief ministers of four provinces, the chief secretaries and other high officials will attend the meeting.
About 3,918 employees would be affected with the transfers of five ministries from the centre to the provinces. Trend Pk

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Wednesday approved Pak-Afghan transit trade agreement.
The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani where the trade ministry presented the Pak-Afghan transit trade agreement and the cabinet approved that mutually.
The federal cabinet also approved Pakistan Housing Authority as autonomous body.
The cabinet division informed the meeting that the decisions of the federal cabinet for the narcotics control and trade ministry have been implemented up to 85 percent. SAMAA
Black box found, cause of crash to be investigated: Kaira
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira Wednesday said the black box (Flight Data Recorder) of the crashed plane has been found and actual cause of crash would be ascertained after a thorough examination of the black box.
He said an inquiry committee has been constituted which would give its opinion after analysing the black box and completing the inquiry procedure.In an exclusive talk with a news channel, he expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and said the entire nation is shocked over the sad event.
Kaira said Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani postponed the cabinet meeting and declared a day of national mourning over the tragic incident.
The Prime Minister, he said, along with Chief Ministers of all provinces had an aerial view of the crash site atop Margalla hills.
The private passenger airliner that could not land at Islamabad airport due to bad weather crashed into a 3000 feet high peak in the Margallas at around 10.00 in the morning, killing around 150 passengers and crew.
Answering a question about rescue activities, Qamar Zaman Kaira, who also accompanied the Prime Minister, said soon after the incident rescue teams and people reached the spot to help the survivors, if any.
He said though crash site is very difficult to reach, rescuers are conducting the operation actively.
The Minister prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant the bereaved family the courage to bear the loss with magnanimity.
Gilani Summons Cabinet Meeting
The Prime Minister has convened a federal cabinet meeting today at Islamabad to review power import.
Sources said the meeting would mull over import of 100 megawatts power from central Asia countries by ministry of water and power. Country’s security and political situation and price-hike would also be taken up. Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin would attend the cabinet meeting today for the last time as he resigned the other day.

Cabinet Meeting To Be Held Today
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has called the meeting of Federal Cabinet today. The next fiscal year’s budget preferences and targets will be discussed in this meeting. Changes in IMF programme regarding Pakistan will be approved in the meeting while amendment in anti drug act will become part of the discussion. According to sources, the meeting would also ratify initiation of dialogue with other countries for investment.

Blast in Rawlakot, 12 Injured
Rawlakot, Pakistan News: At least 12 people including security personnel were injured in a bomb blast in Rawlakot area of Azad Kashmir on Wednesday. The bomb was blasted when security officials were disposing of it. Three children were among the injured. The blast was very loud and its sound was heard in distanced areas. Panic was prevailed in the area after the blast. Police sources told that the bomb was planted near a private school. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has called the meeting of Federal Cabinet at 11am at the PM Secretariat today. Fate of rental power plants would be decided in the meeting. Sources said that the Cabinet will review the report of Asian Development Bank on rental power plants. Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen will give briefing to the participants on ADB’s report about rental power plants. ADB said in the report that electricity price would have to increase by 45 percent to get rid of loadhsedding in 6 months while 31 percent electricity price would have to increase to stamp out loadshedding in a year.

PM Gilani Directs to Remove Flags From Vehicles of Ministers
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed to remove national flag from official vehicles of Federal Ministers, Ministers of State and persons having designation equal to Advisor.
PM Gilani has urged the cabinet division to remove national flag from vehicles of all those government officials who do not have the right under the rules. Prime Minister gave this direction in light of a decision made during the cabinet meeting to discuss recommendations of Austerity Committee.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Federal Cabinet Considers Two Weekly Holidays, A special session of federal cabinet has begun to discuss two holidays in a week for all public sector institutions. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is presiding the meeting.

The federal cabinet is also expected to place a massive cut on a daily expenditure of the president, the prime minister, federal ministers and chief ministers of the four provinces under the proposed austerity drive, to be approved in the special cabinet meeting.
The agenda of the special cabinet meeting revealed that the prime focus of the meeting would be on the approval and implementation of austerity measures. According to the agenda, the austerity measures would be introduced to cut government expenses through administrative and management adjustment in the current system.
The other three items on the agenda are the approval of a sugar policy, gas load management plan 2009-10 and the review of paddy procurement in the 2009 Kharif season.
