ISLAMABAD, Pakistan :John Kerry Meets PM Gilani, Discuss KLB, US Senator John Kerry, Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee held talks with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here on Monday.

Kerry visiting Pakistan after US President Barack Obama signed a record 7.5 billion dollar package tripling non-military aid to Pakistan to boost its campaign against a virulent insurgency.
Kerry in his meeting apprised prime minister about the explanatory statement that has been attached to the bill. He along with the US ambassador to Pakistan Anne W Patterson also discussed Pak-US bilateral ties and the need to carry forward their long term relationship. Kerry, who was a key author of the five-year package aiming to build schools, roads and democratic institutions, due to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and the main opposition party leader Nawaz Sharif later today.
The senator visit aimed to narrow dawn speculations over US aid bill to Pakistan.

President Zardari Calls Ahmadinejad, To Condemn Attack

President Zardari said the incident was “horrible and barbaric” and bore the “signature of a cowardly enemy to the race.”
He said both Pakistan and Iran have deep historical and assured that Pakistan will continue to support and cooperate with Iran in reducing militancy and the fight against extremism and terrorism.
The President expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the Government and people of Iran by the sad incident. Also prayed for those who lost their lives in the incident.
