Two suicide bombers killed, one captured in Kabul

KABUL: Two suicide bombers were killed Wednesday and another captured alive after they fired a rocket at a tent where hundreds of Afghan delegates were meeting to discuss peace, an official said.

“Three suicide bombers wearing burqas entered a house which was under construction. They fired one RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) towards the tent,” Ghulam Farooq Wardak told delegates to the assembly taking place in Kabul.

“Thank God, two of them were killed, paying for their crimes. The third has been captured,” Wardak, organiser of the “peace jirga,” said.

Encroaching Sea Limits, Sixteen Indian Captured

KARACHI: Maritime Security Agency (MSA) has claimed capturing as many as 16 Indian fishermen over violation of Pakistan’s sea limits while their three vessels were also taken into custody.

Arrested men have been moved to unknown place for investigation, sources said.

Spokesman MTSA said 16 Indian fishermen boarding three vessels were arrested over intruding Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) within Pakistan sea limits.

After the preliminary investigation, fishermen will be shifted to Docks police station, he added.

Violence Erupts At Anti-Islamic Protest Thirty Captured

BIRMINGHAM: Police arrested more than 30 men Saturday after violence broke out at a protest against Islamic extremism in Birmingham.

Supporters of the English Defence League, which campaigns against Islamic fundamentalism in Britain, clashed with opponents who argue that they are racists and facists.

Police said they had arrested “more than 30 men” in connection with the violence, which took place in a busy shopping street and involved about 200 people, despite the presence of dozens of riot police.

“Officers acted quickly and robustly to quell pockets of disorder caused by several groups of 20 to 30 men. Police estimate around 200 people in total were involved in the trouble,” a police statement said.

Police had warned they would deal with any troublemakers “robustly” after similar clashes in the city last month, and the English Defence League had also urged its supporters to avoid being drawn into fights.

“We would like to state that anyone who wishes to cause trouble, or use this demonstration to voice any other issues other than Islamic fundamentalists, radical Islam and Sharia will be turned away,” the EDL says on its website.

Militant Captured With 120 Kg Explosives

SARGODHA, PAKISTAN: An alleged terrorist has been arrested from Kandian area of Sargodha, Geo News quoted DIG as saying Wednesday.

RPO Javed Islam said the arrested terrorist belong to Miranshah.

The DIG said 120 kilogram of explosives have been recovered from the terrorist.

Big Terror Plan Foiled In Sargodha, Six Suicide Bomber Captured

SARGODHA: Sargodha police have foiled a big terror plot and arrested six alleged suicide bombers.

DPO Usman Anwar while talking to Geo News revealed that arrested persons belonged to Tahreek-e-Taliban Punjab and they were planning to target religious and other key places.

He said large number of suicide jackets and weapons also recovered from their possession. The chief of Tahreek-e-Taliban Punjab also included among the detainees, he added.
