Carlos Dunlap Arrested, Carlos Dunlap has officially become the 25th Gator arrested during the mandate of the Florida Urban Meyer as head coach at the University of Florida.
According to Police Department spokesman Lt. Keith Kameg Gainesville, Florida Gators from defensive end Carlos Dunlap was arrested this morning on suspicion of DUI.
Dunlap, 20, was arrested at 3:25 am at a traffic light along 34th Street, which runs directly along the west side of campus. According to police, was booked into jail at 5:52
Kameg said officers responded to a complaint of reckless driving and found Dunlap Chrysler stopped at a traffic light near the 200 block of W. 34th Street. Officers found Dunlap coach stopped at a green light.
“I Approach The vehicle and the suspect was found slumped over the driver’s seat,” said Kameg. “It seemed to be asleep. Car windows were cracked as I tried to wake him. They talked to him, and only opened his eyes for a few seconds and then sleep again.”
Kameg said officers were able to unlock the car and turn off the power switch and Dunlap agents reported that “I had trouble listening to instructions.” He was given a sobriety test and did “bad” according Kameg. He refused to take a breathalyzer at the scene, Kameg said.
Carlos Dunlap is the Florida Gators highly decorated, All-SEC defensive end who was recently named MVP of the 2009 season BCS Championship Game. The pound junior 6-foot-6, 290 currently leads the Gators in sacks and is widely Regarded by most analysts as a potential NFL first-round prospect if I decide to leave Florida after his stint as a junior.
Prior to the arrest Dunlap, Florida starting cornerback, Janoris Jenkins, was arrested in late May and charged with fighting and resisting arrest without violence. Urban Meyer had released a statement after the incident.
“This group of players we have now are by and large group quite well. They are 18 to 22 years and, like most young people who are trying to find their way,” Meyer said in a statement.
“It’s a permanent part of our program to mentor and guide our players and is not an exact process. Although we have been very successful with the majority, who are by no means perfect. We were disappointed when we encountered some problems along the way but we will continue to educate and teach our players. ”
This latest arrest comes just days before the Gators are scheduled to take on Alabama in the championship game of the SEC. The Sports Department and Florida coach Urban Meyer has yet to issue a statement about this latest arrest or talking about its impact on The Game.

Latest updates about Grady Sizemore Photos :-Major League Baseball officials have asked Internet sites to remove racy photographs of Cleveland Indians center fielder Grady Sizemore.
Grady Sizemore said the photos — one of them showing him nearly nude — were stolen from his girlfriend’s e-mail account and posted online. He contacted baseball officials to stop the spread of the photos, which began appearing Sunday on various Web sites.
It is not known how many sites are complying with MLB’s request. At least one site, deadspin.com, is refusing to take the photos down.
“There’s no reason to,” editor A.J. Daulerio said Monday. “They were up other places already.”
Daulerio said the Grady Sizemore photos originated on a community message board and were forwarded to his site, which is also displaying a letter from an MLB official requesting the photos be removed.
The letter reads: “The photos posted in the article cited below are the property of Grady Sizemore. They were stolen from a personal computer. We’ve begun an investigation and request that you immediately remove Mr. Sizemore’s property from the posting. We also ask that you preserve any records associated with its submission in anticipation of a criminal complaint to be filed with local law enforcement.”
MLB investigators are trying to determine how many sites ran the photos of Sizemore standing in front of a bathroom mirror in various stages of undress. Sizemore used a cell phone to take the pictures of himself. He told The Plain Dealer of Cleveland they were intended only for his girlfriend.
The Indians said Sizemore wouldn’t make any further comment on the photos.
“We fully support Grady as he deals with this personal matter,” the Indians said in a statement Monday. “The posted photos were stolen from his girlfriend’s e-mail account and a legal investigation is under way.”
The 27-year-old Sizemore is the Indians’ most popular player. His fan base includes “Grady’s Ladies,” and several other women’s groups devoted to the three-time All-Star.
With a rare combination of speed and power, Sizemore has developed into one of baseball’s best all-around players. He is one of only two players in club history to hit 30 homers and steal 30 bases in one season.
A two-time Gold Glove winner, Sizemore has endeared himself to Cleveland fans with his hustle and durability. In 2006 and 2007, he played in all 162 regular-season games, but he was limited to just 106 games last season.
Sizemore suffered an elbow injury and sports hernia during spring training in 2009 and was never 100 percent. He batted a career-low .248 with 18 homers and 64 RBIs before he deciding to stop playing on Sept. 4. He underwent two offseason surgeries.
