Zapak celebrates World Gaming Day 2010
Zapak.com and Idea cellular, the pan-India mobile operator combined celebrated Idea World Gaming Day on the 13th of October at IMAX in Mumbai. Prior to this event held yesterday, the unique initiative had over 1.24 million gamers across the country, which encouraged participants to play fair and win big. Gamers were given an opportunity to participate through all gaming platforms which included mobile phones, consoles, online games and offline games for a month.

The overwhelming response to the celebration is proof that Gamers across the country believe in the same. It is a great initiative by Idea and Zapak to celebrate the gaming phenomenon.”
Rakesh also indicates that Idea world gaming day 2010 has become the first multi platform gaming event in the world with the introduction of mobile gaming this year. With the success of the event this year, gamers and enthusiasts are looking forward to the event next year.
Vidya Balan shoots in crowded places of Kolkata for No One Killed Jessica
While Vidya Balan who considers herself half a Bengali had herself a ball in Kolkata last week shooting for Rajkumar Gupta’s No One Killed Jessica, Rani Mukerjee who is a fully certified Bengali was not to be seen in her home-town.
Going by the way Vidya’s shooting schedule went in Kolkata it was all for the best if Rani stayed away.
Apparently, the 2-day schedule had to be shot with secret cameras in prominent public places where the security was most inadequate.
Says the source, “We had to shoot in crowded locations like the Kolkata airport, Baliganj, Park Circus and New Market. The crowds in these places were impossible to control. We had rushed in place the cameras secretly. Vidya would then get into camera range and before the bystanders recognized the star in their midst, we were out. If Rani had also accompanied Vidya it would’ve been impossible to control.”
Director Rajkumar Gupta is tight-lipped about the details in Kolkata. “All I can tell you is that shooting in Kolkata was even tougher than Delhi. But it was fun. By now, I am used to shooting on crowded main streets with my actors. It was the last two days of shooting. On the second day after we finished, (dress designer) Sabysachi Chakraborty who belongs to Kolkata, took the entire unit out for dinner. We had some terrific Bengali food. We celebrated till the wee hours.” Rani, alas, was no part of the celebration.

KABUL: US General David Petraeus made his public debut Saturday as commander of the war in Afghanistan, attending the celebration of US independence Day at the heavily-guarded American embassy.
The four-star general, who arrived in the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday, wore military fatigues as he stood in a receiving line with ambassador Karl Eikenberry, greeting some of the 1,700 guests on the embassy lawn.
Petraeus, who replaced the sacked US General Stanley McChrystal, has said the near nine-year war in Afghanistan is likely to get tougher before significant improvements are seen.

For years he had driven a milk truck, collecting milk from their farms. They trusted him and he betrayed their trust. As he stated in his suicide note, Charlie was mad at God for taking his newborn daughter who died 10 years earlier.
Rather than recoiling further from the rest of society, the Nickel Mines Amish community visited the home of Charlie Robert the afternoon after the murders, offering his widow Amy their condolences and telling her that they forgave her husband. It was an unprecedented act of mercy that left the local news team flummoxed.

Embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole yesterday said that he is not disturbed over the seven days ultimatum issued by some members of the House for him to vacate office over allegations leveled against him.
According to him, the laws of the land should take its course if he is found guilty.
Bankole who arrived the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos aboard a presidential jet with registration 5N-FGO, landed at the runway of the airport about 9.55 am.
In an interview with airport reporters at the presidential lounge of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, Bankole said : “Let the law take its course, the law will take its course. I do not think I am disturbed over the impeachment notice by my colleagues.”
On the celebration of the anniversary of June 12, which election was annulled 17 years ago, adjudged as the freest and fairest election ever conducted in Nigeria, Bankole said : “We are all here today and enjoying democracy, based on the battle fought by some eminent Nigerians 17 years ago, we need to celebrate them, we can think about how to celebrate them later.”
Recall that some members of the House issued a seven-day ultimatum to Dimeji Bankole to resign his position as speaker of the House.
The group, which referred itself as the progressive members of the House, said their demand for the speaker’s resignation is a clarion to right the wrongs in the legislative practice in Nigeria and that of negativity and bad leadership exhibited by Bankole.
Making the declaration at a press conference in Abuja, Dino Melaye, who spoke on behalf of the group, said the Speaker is being called to resign on the grounds of corruption in leadership and his leadership style which has been largely responsible for the rift, disagreement and disharmony between the chambers of the National Assembly.

She graduated from the Princeton University. Queen Noor met King Hussain in function and they married in 1978. After marriage she relinquishes her American citizen ship and converted to Sunni Muslim religion.
The couple had four children. In 1999 King Hussain has died. She took the interest in promoting the Jordan internationally and took part in the many causes and movements. According to Skoll, the eBay founder-turned-philanthropist, the movie is part of a coordinated effort of more than 50 organizations, including faith-based groups, liberal groups and college tours to get the word out about the nuclear issue and help put pressure on the Senate to ratify the Start nuclear reduction treaty. “I started the company six years ago because we believe film could get people involved in the big issues that affects us all, whether climate change or nuclear weapons,” he said.

On Saturday Rush Limbaugh and Kathryn Rogers married in front of 400 guests. Both of them have married three times before. A report says that Rush Limbaugh, 59, spend $1 million for the celebration. He also requested for extra security arrangements in the Ponce de Leon ballroom of Florida’s fabled Breakers hotel in Palm Beach.
Many celebrities attended their marriage and wished them. Former Bush adviser Karl Rove; former Kansas City Royals slugger and actor-politician Fred Thompson, Sean Hannity, Rudolph Giuliani, Mary Matalin, George Brett and golfer Tom Watson also attended the ceremony.
The couple met each other six years ago at a celebrity golf tournament and have supposedly been a couple ever since. Rush Limbaugh was in the midst of divorcing his third wife that time.
It seems like quite the odd choice for a conservative radio host considering that Elton John is gay and in a civil partnership with David Furnish. Limbaugh is actively speaking out against gay marriage. Anyway, congratulations to the newly weds!
Singing at the wedding was reportedly Elton John who was paid $1 million dollars for this special performance! Who would have thought that of all singers in the World he would pick an openly-gay one, giving all Limbaugh’s comments against homosexuality.

Baby girl Bryn Hoppy arrived nearly one month earlier than expected, but the reality mogul’s rep says all is well with the happy little family: “Bethenny and Jason are proud to welcome their new baby girl…born at 8 a.m. . . . in New York City. She is a 4 lb. 12 oz., healthy baby. Bryn, mom, dad and [their dog] Cookie are all very happy.”
Whaddya know, former bestie Jill Zarin is happy, too, spilling the wrong beans (before the new mom had even confirmed!) via Facebook Friday night: “Heard Bethenny had a baby boy…so happy for her and Jason. So happy for them.”
Frankel and Hoppy exchanged vows March 28, where the blushing bride was rocking a serious baby bump.
She had been chronicling every change in her body during the pregnancy, recently telling fans, “When I was approaching my eighth month, I was exhausted; it was brutal … Right after my wedding, I swelled like a balloon.”
Frankel and Zarin used to be best of friends, but they’ve recently had a falling out. Alex McCord, their co-star on the Bravo series, told E! last week that there was no hope for their friendship.

Organised by Charles Johnson, the Sweet Auburn Springfest is the largest Multicultural Street festival in the South. The celebration is taking place at the Historic Sweet Auburn District which is located in the middle of Atlanta.
Timings for today are from 11:00 – 9:00 pm and on Sunday you can visit from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The admission and parking is free so enjoy the celebration of Sweet Auburn Springfest with your family this weekend.
Now the Festival is back once again on May 7, shutting down the area from Spring Street to Boulevard. There are so many sights to see, and multiple pre-festival events.
