Sebastian Vettel becomes the Youngest F1 World champion
Red Bulls Sebastian Vettel has become the new world champion, and the youngest in history, after a gripping Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Vettel led from the start and only surrendered the lead after his tyre stop, but the outcome of the championship was effectively decided on the opening lap when Mercedes GPs Michael Schumacher spun and was mounted by an unsighted Tonio Liuzzi. As the safety car came out, Renault crucially pitted Vitaly Petrov, as did Mercedes Nico Rosberg. Both stops later played key roles in the title winning of Vettel.
At 23 years and 106 days, Vettel took the title with a faultless drive from pole position to the chequered flag, resisting a strong challenge from Briton Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, who in 2008 had achieved the same feat at the age of 23 and 307 days.
Pre-race series leader and two-time champion Fernando Alonso of Ferrari and Vettelās Australian team-mate Mark Webber fell out of contention for the title when they emerged down the field after early pit-stops.

Miami Hurricanes baseball coach Jim Morris has heard the story repeatedly. But he still can hardly believe it.
It’s the tale of how the father of UM star third baseman Harold Martinez swam 10 hours on his back, covered with motor oil to keep him warm and clear of sharks, from Southeast Cuba to Guantanamo Bay to make a better life for his wife — a former competitive synchronized swimmer — and then 1-year-old son, Harold.
“Wow!” Morris said. “I’m scared to put my foot in the ocean. I’m afraid a shark might bite me.
“Harold says, `I was supposed to be a water person, not a baseball player.’ ”
The Canes are glad he chose land. As No. 1 seed Miami (40-17) prepares to meet No. 4 Dartmouth (26-17) at 4 p.m. Friday in the Coral Gables Regional, Martinez is tied for the Atlantic Coast Conference home run lead with 19 — more than anyone in the four-team tournament.

Only a sophomore, he is 11th in school history in home runs in a single season, and needs six more to tie the UM record set by Phil Lane in 1982. He leads the team with 60 RBI and ranks second to ACC Player of the Year Yasmani Grandal in slugging percentage (.601) and total bases (131).
“That would be amazing, when you think of all the great players who have come through here,” Martinez, 20, said when asked how significant it would be should he tie or break the record. “Hopefully it happens, because if it [it does] it means I’ll be bringing a lot of runs in — and hopefully our team will be winning.”
A former shortstop at Miami Braddock High, Martinez, 6-3 and 202 pounds, was moved to third base last year. Though he leads the team in errors with 17 at a position described in baseball as “the hot corner,” his fielding was flawless at the ACC tournament, where he was named to the all-tournament team. Drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 19th round out of high school, Martinez should be UM’s top major-league prospect next season.
“People can have deceiving numbers in baseball,” said UM freshman Michael Broad. “But Harold’s 19 home runs have included a lot of big home runs. When he hits a bomb it’s a momentum-changer.”

Jujutsu or Jiu-Jitsu, literally meaning the “art of softness”, or “way of yielding”, is a collective name for Japanese martial art styles including unarmed and armed techniques. Jujutsu evolved among the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponent without weapons. Because striking against an armored opponent proved ineffective, practitioners learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws. These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker’s energy against him, rather than directly opposing it.
There are many variations of the art, which leads to a diversity of approaches. Jujutsu schools (ry?) may utilize all forms of grappling techniques to some degree (i.e. throwing, trapping, joint locks, holds, gouging, biting, disengagements, striking, and kicking). In addition to jujutsu, many schools teach the use of weapons.

n Toledo at Premier Martial Arts of Toledo, located at 5333 Monroe St., Brazilian Jujitsu is taught and mastered. Students of various ages, sizes, ethnicity and careers do exercises and practice escaping and attacking while on their backs.
Deon Thompson, a Brazilian Jujitsu instructor who has been practicing for approximately 10 years and has won various medals and tournaments, including a bronze in the Pan Am Games, gold in the Ohio Grapplers Challenge and the Super Fight title at the Michigan Open Brazilian Jujitsu Tournament in January 2010, teaches the Gracie style of fighting.
”In the past, people would see the guy on the ground and say, āHeās losing,ā” stated Mr. Thompson.
He said that about 90 percent of fights end up on the ground, therefore Brazilian Jujitsu best prepares them for the situation.
Mr. Thompson emphasizes that the art is for everyone and is not for just the best physically fit or the strongest person. He says learning that particular style is about leverage and technique.
Dr. Linda Whittington-Clark, a student of Mr. Thompson, confirmed that Brazilian Jujitsu is for everyone and isnāt discriminatory towards age, being that she just turned 58.
”I see myself walking around with a lot more confidence,” Dr. Clark emphasized
” height=”528″ />Tips for practicing and benefiting from Randori in Jukido-Jujitsu:
* Donāt worry about winning or losing ā just practicing and learning
* Do not attempt throws with raw strength. This is not only dangerous for everyone involved but is never the correct method of throwing in Jukido
* Be loose ā move loosely in all directions and avoid being rigid. Self-defense requires that the student be loose enough to move and take advantage of the attackers weaknesses ā being tight only occurs at the correct moments.
* Look for patterns in your partnerās offensive and develop a strategy with a variety of techniques utilizing the opponents patterns against him (mental kuzushi).
* Be patient and look for and create lapses in your opponents judgment
* If your opponent begins to attempt a throw but hesitates take advantage with your own throw or series of renzoku-waza. Take advantage of your partnerās unsuccessful technique or incorrect tsurkuri and kuzushi.
* Do not resort to only one type of technique (foot sweeps, sacrifice throws, etc.)
* Do not try techniques that have not been taught to you.
* If you are a senior student try to compete a level that is just a bit higher then the Jukido-ka your working with. For example, a shodan who is practicing randori with a green belt might practice at a brown belt level. This enables the junior student to push harder at a gradual pace and it enables the shodan to fine tune some of the techniques at that level as well as increase the teaching and learning involved. In this way both students are throwing and being thrown and everyone benefits.
* Have fun and try your best!
