Eidul Fitr being observed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas
PESHAWAR: The tradition of two separate Eids in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is intact this year as well, as various districts and tribal areas of the province are observing Eidul Fitr today (Tuesday) on announcement by Masjid Qasim Khan.
The Eid prayers have been offered in various Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas including Bannu, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Hangu, Kohat, Kirk, North Waziristan Agency (NWA), South Waziristan Agency (SWA) and other tribal areas.
Meantime, the provincial government decided to observe Eid day in pursuance of announcement by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

2 killed, 29 injured in jumbled cars crash in Charsaddha & Multan

A bout of heavy fog caused a pile-up of 30 cars and lorries at both Multan and Charsadda-Peshawar, which left at least two people dead and injured 29 others.
According to the police, two people died in an accident that occurred six kilometers away from Charsadda. The injured and the dead have been shifted to the DHQ Hospital Charsadda and other Peshawar hospitals.
Traffic on the Charsadda-Peshawar motorway was totally paralyzed shortly after the fog fell and caused a series of accidents.
similarly, around 30 cars jumbled at Bahawalpur Road, Multan as a result of which some 25 people got injured. The injured have been shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan. Rescue 1122 and police are making efforts to remove the destroyed vehicles from the site. In other parts of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa freezing conditions and heavy snow is causing problems with major roads being forced to close.

PESHAWAR: Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Shakil Umarzai, was arrested on Friday after his protective pre-arrest bail plea was revoked by the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
Umarzai, who was elected on an ANP ticket from Charsadda, and his accomplices are accused of the murder of former provincial lawmaker and PPP-Sherpao leader, Alamzeb Umarzai.
Shakil had earlier got a pre-arrest bail from a lower court.
Alamzeb Umarzai’s brother submitted an application in PHC, seeking cancelation of Shakil Umarzai’s bail.
Hearing the case today, PHC rejected Umarzai’s bail, after which he was arrested. Trend Pk
Suicide blast in Charsadda 32 dead

CHARSADDA, Pakistan News : The suicide blast in the city caused 32 dead while 55 injured, Senior Minister North West Frontier Province (NWFP) told media Tuesday.
The suicide car bomb blast in Charsadda have caused 32 dead including 2 women and 55 others injured.
A Suzuki pick-up van was used for the purpose of conducting the blast. The van was full of explosive material, said the DPO Charsadda.
“We are in a state of war and we are fighting an unknown enemy,” said the NWFP Law Minister. “Charsadda is surrounded by Khyber and Mohmand Agencies. The police is fighting the war against terrorism very effectively.”
NWFP Information Minister Mian iftikhar told the media that the suicide attack in Charsadda is the terrorists’ response to the South Waziristan operation. The terrorists have been weakened and now they are targeting civilians in prder to not support the government. But he said he assures the public that we will fight them until they are defeated, he added.
The death toll may increase. Eye witnesses say that they had seen 28 dead bodies.
The blast occured at the Farooq-i Azam Chowk in the main market of the city.
The public has been indulged in relief activities.
Many shops and vehicles have also been damaged in the blast. About 45 injured have been brought to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. Seven injured persons are in a critical condition, the officials of lady Reading Hospital .
The injured have been taken to the District Hospital, Charsadda. The severely injured have been taken to the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar. Police has cordoned off the area.

CHARSADDA, Pakistan: 5 killed in Charsadda Blast, At least five people have been killed and various others injured in a powerful blast in Charsadda area of Farroq-e-Azam Chawk.
The place is usually crowded one. The people on their own kick-started the relief activities and rushed the bodies and injured to the nearby hospital.
The blast was so power that the windowpanes of nearby buildings broke and the smoke is seen billowing from the blast site.
The state of emergency has been declared in the hospital.
At least five bodies have been taken to the District Hospital and some injured are in critical condition.

Suicide Attack in Charsadda, 20 killed
CHARSADDA, Pakistan: Suicide Attack in Charsadda, 20 killed, At least 20 people were killed and scores of others were hurt in an apparent suicide attack in Charsadda here Tuesday.
The suicide bomber exploded his explosives-laden vehicle in an intersection just outside the market at Farooq-e-Azam chowk in Charsadda, located some 25 miles (40 kilometers) north of Peshawar, destroying shops on both sides of the road and knocking down electrical wires.
The blast wounded 55 people, 10 of them critically, said police official Riaz Khan.
“I had just passed through this place hardly two minutes before the blast. I felt it myself,” said Khan. “We got back and saw destruction everywhere.”
Paramedical teams and rescuers arrived at the scene and the injured – among many are in critical situation, were rushed to the district hospital where emergency has already been declared.
Police cordoned off the area and were collecting the evidences from the blast site.

Bomb Blast In Shab Qadar 6 Killed
PAKISTAN, CHARSADDA: Six persons have been killed and dozens injured in a bomb blast at a petrol pump in Shab Qadar area of Charsadda on Monday.
According to reports, the bomb was planted in a car that went off wounded ten persons. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals.
45 Families Of IDPs Will Be Shifted To Mardan
CHARSADDA: Forty-five families of Malakand affectees will be shifted to Jalala camp in Mardan from Palwasa camp Charsadda.
Assistant coordination officer Charsadda Muhammad Naeem Khan said most of the affected families belonged to Kabal area of Swat whose departure has been delayed due to probable operation. They will be shifted to Jalala camp because number of IDPs has been reduced in the camp. All camps of Malakand IDPs will be closed with the shifting of these 45 families. Meanwhile, return of IDPs from Nowshera has been delayed due to lack of transport.
