ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday called upon the United States to establish a long term and durable relationship with Pakistan aimed at ensuring well-being of the people of the country.

MNA Sardar Mehtab sends resignation to Sharif
ISLAMABAD: Sardar Mehtab Abbasi of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) decided to resign from his National Assembly seat, Geo News reported Saturday.
Abbasi has sent his resignation to PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif.
A letter attached with the resignation, said, ‘I was elected on PML-N ticket; accordingly, he is sending his resignation to Nawaz Sharif.’
It should be pertinent to mention here that Sardar Mehtab demurred at change of the NWFP’s name and also he did not vote in the National Assembly in favour of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw to be the new name of the NWFP.

Nawaz Sharif Demands Justice for Baloch People, PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif Monday said Baloch people should be given social and political justice if their wounds are to be healed. He said only verbal promises are not enough to take angry people on board.
Addressing the meeting of PML-N Organizing Committee at Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasir’s residence, Nawaz Sharif said seeking pardon from Baloch people without resolving their issues will not help the cause. He demanded to bring perpetrators of Nawab Akbar Bugti’s murder to justice. “Assassination of Akbar Bugti on personal differences is not tolerable.” Nawaz refuted the allegations of friendly fire on restoration of judges and NRO issue. He also demanded to recover missing persons soon.

PML-N Adopted Principled Stand on NRO
Pakistan News: PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday that the present circumstances were result of repeated imposition of Marshal Laws in the country however change was not far now.
Talking to media after inquiring the health of terrorist attacks’ injured being treated in Lady Reading Hospital, Nawaz said his party played its due role in all important issues including restoration of judges. “We have a stand based on principles on NRO, the nation wants end to dictator’s policies,” he added. Nawaz demanded immediate abolition of 17th amendment. He underlined the need to change name of NWFP but said it should be discussed before.

PM Gilani Meets Nawaz Sharif at Nawabshah Airport

NAWABSHAH, Pakistan News:PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that dictatorship created problems instead of solving them. He told that views were exchanged on a number of issues during his meeting with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Talking to media during his visit to New Jatoi for condolence of veteran politician Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi’s sad demise, Nawaz said the present situation needed to be improved, adding that people of Pakistan wanted resolution of country’s problems. “The problems are solved by democracy and Pakistan’s real destination is democracy.” Commenting on his meeting with PM Gilani, Nawaz said these meetings were not personal and were intended to discuss national issues. He said progress should be made on issues agreed upon during the meeting. Nawaz praised Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi’s political wisdom and said that he was a very kind person.
Earlier, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif met at Nawabshah airport as Nawaz arrived at the airport to attend Rasm-e-Qul of Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi. Nawaz underlined the need to give equal rights to all provinces.
PM Gilani arrived at the airport after condoling death of Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi whereas Nawaz had just arrived there. Both the leaders held a meeting. Qamar Zaman Kaira, Naveed Qamar, and Syed Khursheed Shah were accompanying Prime Minister whereas Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Ghous Ali Shah and Captain Safdar were accompanying Nawaz Sharif during the meeting. The parties discussed political situation, accountability bill and other issues. PM Gilani departed for Islamabad while Nawaz left for New Jatoi after the meeting.

Nawaz Sharif Will Not Meet President Zardari Next Week
Pakistan: Nawaz Sharif Will Not Meet President Zardari Next Week, PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif has decided not to meet President Asif Ali Zardari until the agenda for restructuring of the constitution is finalized.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had conveyed a message from President Zardari to Mian Nawaz Sharif for a meeting in Murree. Nawaz had agreed on that, however, Chaudhry Nisar, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Khawaja Asif and Ishaq Dar suggested Nawaz not to meet President Zardari until a clear policy and agenda on 17th amendment and 58-2(b) comes. The final decision on the meeting would be made after Eid and if the meeting is held, these conditions would have to be fulfilled.
