We must not beg, says Nawaz Sharif
GUJRAT: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif Friday advised the government against being beggars.
Addressing party’s workers convention here, the PML-N chief said the biggest problem of the country today is power load shedding and unemployment; he vowed to end these problems when his party comes into power.
The PML-N chief said, “We should not beg for money from any country; instead, we should work hard for the development of our country.”
Sharif lamented on the overall situation of the country, saying people now need change as they are unhappy with the current government. TrendPK
New US Ambassador Cameron Munter met Nawaz
PML-N’s leader Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has said that it is vital importance of time that Pakistan and US must improve their relations in every field; US must keep in mind the difficulties and necessities of Pakistan while forming any trade policies.
Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Saturday hoped that US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter would play his role toward bringing the peoples of the two countries closer. In the meeting held at Raiwand, Lahore, Nawaz said that Pakistan is facing a great financial defecit due to the ongoing war on terror, so US must formulate the trade policies accordingly, keeping all the points in mind. Nawaz thanked Munters quick and generous response to the floods, while the ambassador and Shahbaz agreed that the $147 million primary education agreement recently concluded between USAID and the Punjab government should become a model for future cooperation in the province. Cameron Munter, on the occasion, conveyed a message of goodwill from his government to Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif. He also said the United States deemed Pakistan a trusted ally and friend and that it would continue to stand by Pakistan in a time of trial.
PPP, PML-Q meeting not to affect us, claims Nawaz
PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday called for principled politics in the country, adding that the politicians should respect certain limits while doing politics.
Briefing the media in Peshawar, Nawaz urged the government to reform its ways before the angry public took to roads to get it done.
Answering a question about a meeting between two mainstream political parties i.e PPP and PML-Q, a non-chalant Nawaz said it will not affect us.
He called upon the government to take steps for early elimination of poverty from the country. Referring to the Supreme Courts rulings, he urged those at the helm to implement the court verdicts forthwith, adding that immediate action is needed to check corruption in the public departments. He lamented Pakistans 34th ranking in the Transparency International report for corruption, saying that it brought bad name for the people.
He ruled out any confrontation between the parliament and the Supreme Court.
Nawaz is insane, says Musharraf
The bitter feud between political leaders is once again out in the open with former President Pervez Musharraf terming PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif an insane.
Talking to the media in London, he said that Nawaz Sharif was twice elected to the office of Premier but failed to deliver. Now, he aspires to grab power for the third time with intent to looting the country again, he added. He said that his entry into politics has created tension among politicians and now time has come to counter criticism robustly. He further said that he has entered into politics and the era of silence has come to an end. He said that everybody would be handled with iron hands.

The meeting resolved to do best at every level to stabilize democracy and to raise voice in NA session for rehabilitation of flood affectees. Nisar, Senator Parvez Rasheed, Khwaja Asif, Ayaz Mir and Khwaja Saad Rafiq also attended the meeting.

No efforts to be spared for victims rehabilitation: Nawaz
MUZAFFARBAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Thursday said no efforts will be spared for the service and rehabilitation of the flood-stricken people.
Addressing the flood affectees in Baseera area of Muzaffargarh, Nawaz Sharif paid tributes to the people hit by the unprecedented floods for their resilience and courage.
“There can be no compensation for loss of life but those who suffered monetary losses will be given at least Rs100,000 each,” he promised.
Later, talking to media, the PML-N Chief said rehabilitation of the flood victims is a colossal task and will take time, as even the assessment of the losses remains to be carried out.
Referring to the yesterday’s deadly bombings in Lahore, he said problems of Pakistan are being compounded. Some elements want to see Pakistan unstable, he added.
Nawaz slams Zardari’s foreign trip during floods
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Saturday, referring to the President’s ongoing visit to the UK, said the national resources should have been directed towards helping the flood-stricken people instead of wasting the same on foreign tours.
Talking to media men after visiting a flood relief camp set up here at a workers welfare school, Nawaz Sharif appealed President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani to stand by the victims of flood in their time of trial.
Lashing out at President Asif Ali Zardari for his ongoing UK trip, the PML-N Chief said the prevailing harsh circumstances necessitated President’s staying back at home with the people of Pakistan and not leaving them in lurch by proceeding on a foreign tour.
“I have asked Shahbaz Sharif to stay in Muzaffargarh until each and every flood affected person gets relief there,” he told the reporters.
Nawaz urges President not to go on UK trip
NOWSHEHRA: Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Sunday urged President Asif Ali Zardari not to undertake UK visit as planned at a time when the nation is undergoing a test due to heavy flooding.
During his visit to Nowshehra to assess the devastation caused by heavy floods in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Nawaz Sharif called upon the politicians to rise above political their interests and to extend every possible help to the victims of the calamity. The government should utilize all the available resources to deal with the flood situation, he added.
“I have never seen such widespread devastation across the country including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa caused by the worst flooding in the country’s history,” the PML-N Chief noted.
He said no Pakistani should hold himself back from helping his fellow countrymen in this time of trial.
During his visit, Nawaz Sharif met with the affectees of the flood besides assessing the damage unleashed by the natural calamity.
Altaf for establishing ”Haq Parast” army to fight terror
KARACHI: Chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain, said attack on the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (Data Darbar) in Lahore on Thursday night was an attack on humanity.
Altaf expressed these views during his telephonic address from London. He suggested that people should develop a private security culture in the country for their safety. He called for establishing ”Haq Parast” army to fight terror.
MQM Chief urged people to remain vigilant against suspected people in their vicinity.
Altaf reiterated that his party would continue to work for bringing peace and stability in the country, adding that he has been warning of terror threats since long.
He directed the people to remain vigilant of any plot against the country.
