TrendPK.com: Jennifer Lopez has had a successful career in show business, but that doesn’t mean she is ready for her twins with Marc Anthony to go after the same career.

Lopez recently admitted that she would be more than supportive of her children if they chose to go into entertainment, but she won’t let them make that decision just yet, states RadarOnline.com.

“I don’t want them to be in the business at a young age. I just don’t think they need that burden, that pressure. They should have a normal life – go to school, play, grow up … If they want to go off and be artists or singers or dancers or pilots or architects or anything – then they have my full support,” Lopez commented.

However, she wouldn’t be too surprised if they do enter entertainment: “I can hear that Emme can sing. She loves to dance and will sit there for hours watching dance … She could be a choreographer. And I can see that Max is very comfortable in front of a camera.”

Do you think her children will enter show business?

NATO airstile killed eight children: Karzai

A NATO airstrike killed eight children in Afghanistan s Kapisa province, President Hamid Karzai said Thursday.

The president “strongly condemned the aerial bombing by foreign troops that killed a number of children in Nejrab district” northeast of Kabul on Wednesday, said a statement from his office.

“Based on information by (the) provincial governor, as a result of an air strike conducted on February 8 in Geyawa village in Nejrab district of Kapisa province, eight children were killed,” the statement said.

Karzai had assigned a delegation “to launch an all-out probe into the NATO bombing”, it added.

A NATO spokesman said he could “confirm there has been a situation. A joint assessment team went there to identify the situation”.

The Afghan president, who has a strained relationship with his Western allies, has regularly condemned NATO for civilian deaths in the decade-long war against Taliban insurgents fighting to overthrow him.

A record number civilians were killed in Afghanistan in 2011 — the fifth straight year the death toll has risen, the United Nations reported last week.

A total of 3,021 civilians died — mostly at the hands of insurgents — up eight percent from 2,790 in 2010, the UN mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said in its annual report.

Taliban-led insurgents caused 77 percent of the deaths last year, up 14 percent from 2010, while pro-government forces were responsible for killing 410 civilians — 14 percent of the total, the report said.

Most deaths attributed to NATO forces were a result of attacks from the air, but there was an overall decline of four percent in the number of civilians killed by pro-government forces, the report said.

Three families massacred in Syria’s Homs: activists

February 8, 2012 by

BEIRUT: Three entire families, including women and children, were massacred overnight in the flashpoint city of Homs by the Syrian government’s security forces and thugs, activists said on Wednesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the 20 dead were from the Ghantawi, Terkawi and Zamel families, who were all gunned down in their homes.

Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britain-based group, said one family numbered five, including a 15-year-old girl and two other children aged five and seven. Another family had seven members and the third eight.

Abdel Rahman said the three families were shot dead after the regime forces and government-backed militiamen known as Shabiha stormed their homes overnight in the Homs neighbourhoods of Karm el-Zeytoun and Naziheen.

Hadi Abdullah, an activist in Baba Amr reached by satellite phone from Beirut, said the 20 victims had their throats slit.

The reports could not be independently verified as the government has prevented most foreign journalists from entering Syria to cover an unprecedented revolt against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

The crackdown on the uprising has been concentrated in recent days on Homs, which has become a main centre of resistance. AGENCIES
