Monsoon rain cools Peshawar, Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Monsoon rains continue to lash widespread areas of Pakistan, TrendPK reports.
Showers turned the weather pleasant in the capital city of Islamabad, brining smiles on faces of citizens.
In Peshawar, two days of rains brought the temperature down to pleasing level.
The Met office has forecast more rains in interior Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Balochistan for the next 24 hours. TrendPK

Heavy rain hit Lahore and its suburbs which gave relief to the citizens from hot and humid weather.
The heavy rain also caused problems for the citizens as rainwater accumulated in the low-lying areas while heavy showers also created traffic problems as roads remained submerged in water, suspending routine life for quite some time.
Most streets and roads in the city were inundated with rainwater, exposing the planning of the departments concerned.
According to the Met Office the city received about 81mm rain.
Rain also showered in different cities of the province including Gujranwala, Kasur, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

LAHORE: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has assured his party’s conditional support for Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST).
While talking to the media in Lahore, he said that an army operation will not benefit Pakistan and all decisions should be taken as per the decisions of Parliament resolution.

LONDON: Interior Minister Rehman Malik today called MQM chief Altaf Hussain and delivered a special message on behalf of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
After his arrival in London, Malik contacted Altaf Hussain on phone and took him into confidence about the steps taken by the government to improve law and order situation in Karachi.

KARACHI: Unidentified miscreants set on fire a passenger bus in New Karachi while markets and shops were closed after firing in different areas on the metropolis on Friday.
According to the details, miscreants started firing in different areas spreading fear among the citizens.
Firing was reported in Rinchhore Line, Kharadar, New Karachi, Bohra Pir, Garden, Soldier Bazaar, Ramswami, Lines Area, Jordia Bazaar, Jail Road, Jamshed Road and Pir Colony where all markets and shops closed after the firing.

Gilani orders to restore fuel supply in Punjab, Balochistan
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday took notice of the shortage of petrol in Punjab and Balochistan and issued directives to restore the supply of the commodity to all the filling stations forthwith.
Hundreds of petrol pumps are shut in Punjab and Balochistan due to acute shortage of petrol, posing huge problems for the citizens. The petrol shortage continued for several days now, has badly impacted the lives of the citizens.
The PM ordered Federal Petroleum Minister Naveed Qamar to take immediate steps to address the situation and restore the fuel supply. On the other hand, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while expressing grave concern over the fuel shortage wrote a letter to the PM asking him to probe the matter.
The CM called upon the Centre to resolve the issue forthwith, as Punjabites are facing acute problems in carrying out their trade and routine activities. Shahbaz said that the Punjab government would not keep silent on the matter and would raise the issue on all forums.
