Officials of cosmetic firm LâOreal Paris have denied reports that Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai has been replaced by Frieda Pinto as the new brand ambassador.
Reports of Frieda replacing Aishwarya came up after the âSlumdog Millionaireâ star featured in LâOrealâs âHappy New Yearâ television commercial.
âWe are shocked and surprised to read in some sections of the media/press about Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being replaced as the face of LâOreal Paris,â said an official statement from the firm.
âLâOreal Paris strongly reiterates that this is absolutely untrue and that Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continues to be our valued spokesperson, as she has since 2000. While she remains an integral part of the LâOreal Paris world wide Dream Team, she was unfortunately unavailable for our New Year commercial shoot due to prior commitments.
âShe is one of the most iconic women of our times and is certainly the face of LâOreal Paris internationally and in India for a range of products which include campaigns for Total Repair 5, Excellence Crème, Color Riche, Hydrafresh,â the statement added.

Bastille Day is the French equivalent of Fourth of July and New Years rolled into one; a day-long celebration of nationality and joie de vivre. You can easily create your own version of the July 14th holiday with our help.
What the candy table at Miette illustrates is the power of a color palette. Miette designed it with a sea theme in mind but that design also works for the Fourth of July or the Bastille Day party. They even sell the star lollipops in red or ocean blue.
I got this idea from a succulent dessert I ate at lâApĂŠritif Ă la Française last Thursday night. They were so delicious that I ate two. You can achieve the color palette through the tableware and the food.

An easy dessert is to serve the classic panna cotta topped with strawberries and blueberries. Glue a star sticker on the jar or tie a ribbon to finish the look.

Music award shows such as the Country Music Television cable channelâs CMT Awards at 8 tonight exist chiefly to recognize distinguished works, typically of the recent past â and attract audiences with all the star power they can muster â rather than to provide a forum for the discovery of new music.
But tonightâs ceremony from Nashville highlighting viewersâ favorite country music videos of the past year also is giving a first look and listen to singer-songwriter Jamey Johnsonâs ambitious new album âThe Guitar Songs,â which doesnât come out until September.
Johnson, who gained critical accolades and a healthy amount of commercial success for his 2008 album âThat Lonesome Songâ and its award-laden single âIn Colorâ apparently has been on a writing frenzy. Heâs assembled two CDs worth of new material: 25 songs, including âMacon,â the one heâs slated to sing tonight at the CMT event, an atmospheric tale of a Georgia trucker on his way home.
Among the showâs other performers announced so far are Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and the Zac Brown Band. Award presenters include Taylor Swift, Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Jada Pinkett-
Smith, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler, Blake Shelton, Gloriana and Laura Bell Bundy. This yearâs leading nominees include Swift, Urban, Paisley, Keith, Underwood and Reba McEntire.Blake Shelton shared Collaborative Video of the Year award with Trace Adkins for their duet in “Hillbilly Bone”. Thanking Reba who presented the honor, Blake told the crowd packed into Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on June 9, “Thanks to the fans for voting for us. Thanks to Trace Adkins for being the biggest bad-ass in country music.”
Luke Bryan got USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year, thanking fans for changing his life. “Y’all are doing it every day,” he said in gratitude. Furthermore, Shaun Shilva whose credits include Luke’s “Do I” music video was named Director of the Year.

Yeah, man. It was great to be out there. Thatâs what itâs about. That song really lets the listeners in on where I come from and how I grew up, and the video does that as well. I grew up doing those types of things. My grandfather had a small cattle farm, and Iâm used to all that stuff and all the things that come with that.
Is that the farm you grew up on in the video?
Actually that was filmed on a farm about 45 minutes away north of Nashville in Springfield, Tenn. Itâs a working farm up there, 1300 acres.
Iâm impressed that the insurance people let you get away with using the chainsaw.
Aw, shoot. Hey, what they donât know donât hurt âem. Until they see the video. Then I tell them I wonât do it again until I do it again.
Because it was so personal, how much of a role did you play in the concept of the video?
I had a big part in that. They send you video treatments and you pick what you like the most, and thatâs the one I really liked.
EC_JRM_GPub.006_2.300In picking the truck, though, did you use your own or at least have a good selection to choose from?
No, that was a farmhandâs truck who worked for that guy. We just used his truck. It is like some that I have driven. My grandpa had an old â81 Ford he had almost till I graduated.

If I was Jamey Johnson, I’d be a little nervous right now. Maybe very nervous. I mean how can you live up to all the hype over one song? There’s been so much buzz about his new song, “Macon,” that he’ll be premiering live tonight (June 9) on the CMT Music Awards that I am crossing my fingers that I’ll love it as much as the rest of the world does. People have been all over
Facebook and Twitter bragging about how they’ve heard it and are freaking out about its potential and how incredible it is and how it’s a must-see. Then the Los Angeles Times called it “an atmospheric tale of a Georgia trucker on his way home.” I am a fan of Johnson’s music, and I dig songs about truckers, so really what’s not to love?Johnson, who gained critical accolades and a healthy amount of commercial success for his 2008 album âThat Lonesome Songâand its award-laden single âIn Colorâ apparently has been on a writing frenzy
This spring, Jamey described the project as a white album and a black album with a yin-yang theme. One is upbeat while the other is darker in sound, and the songs are positioned to set up a specific emotional progression.
Day/night tests cricket to start soon: David Morgan
The International Cricket Council president David Morgan has hinted that day/night Tests cricket will start soon. He said that the new format would be introduced either Australia or India.
Morgan said that the new format will attract large crowds, the day/night Tests could draw in spectators who are at work during normal playing hours. He added that the color of the ball has not been finalized yet. He added that he wants to bring revolution into the game. He said that the initiative is being taken to address complaints that too many Tests, as well as one-dayers, lack context and fails to excite much interest.
What made Housefull Hilarious?

With a recollaboration of Hey Babyy team, the recently released multi-starrer flick Housefull is all set to entertain the audiences this summer. While the film is getting rave reviews for its hilarious script, the stars’ performances and the lively jokes, what makes the film more than just staple Bollywood masala is the extraordinary visual effects (VFX) and DI executed by Mumbai-based Visual entertainment services Company, Prime Focus.
Talking about the vfx of the movie, Merzin Tavaria, Chief Creative Director at Prime Focus said, “Housefull is one of the most challenging films in terms of creatives and deliveries. The most important sequences being the Tiger sequence and the Monkey sequence. We had a couple of scenes which involved the lead actors interacting with a Tiger which was quite difficult to shoot in reality,That’s one of the scenes where we have used VFX but the beauty of the shot is that it’s so seamless that you can’t make out the use of VFX and this helps, as it looks real and doesn’t disturb the narrative.
Apart from the vfx, what added glitz to movie was the Digital Intermediate (DI) executed by the Prime Focus team.
Says DI head and Chief colorist Rohan Desai,” Since Housefull is a romantic comedy, we have set the palette to bright-happy colors. We have maintained a very clean and consistent look for the entire movie.
Talking about the challenges Rohan said , “Most of the scenes in Housefull were shot in London where the weather is very erratic; as a result there were a lot of lighting challenges involved, with Digital Intermediate we achieved the required look and feel for the scenes and consistency in terms of skin tones and background. There were scenes where we had patches of clouds passing by that made the background change tones from dull to bright and dim again; We animated the color grades and used DI to maintain consistency in terms of lighting. ,” Desai added.
In a special VFX showcase series by Bollywood Hungama, we bring you an exclusive behind-the-scenes, shot by shot explanation which will take you on an enriching vfx ride courtesy Prime Focus, Sajid Nadiadwala and the Director Sajid Khan.
Malcolm McLaren Impresario Music Manager Dead
Malcolm Robert Andrew McLaren 22 January 1946 â 8 April 2010 was a British performer, impresario, self-publicist and former manager of the Sex Pistols and the New York Dolls.Malcolm McLaren, the impresario, promoter and self-promoter who once claimed to have invented punk rock, and who assembled and managed the youthful, unruly members of the Sex Pistols, the breakthrough British punk band, has died. He was 64.
His companion of many years, Young Kim, confirmed that Mr. McLaren died on Thursday, and said he died of mesothelioma at a hospital in Switzerland. As a solo artist, Mr. McLaren released genre-defying albums like âDuck Rockâ in 1983 and âWaltz Darlingâ in 1989, and remained a perennial presence in the worlds of art and fashion.
Malcolm McLaren, the former Sex Pistols manager who is credited with helping form the legendary U.K. punk band, has died at the age of 64 after a battle with cancer. âHe had been suffering from cancer for some time, but recently had been full of health, which then rapidly deteriorated,â McLarenâs spokesman Les Molloy told The Independent.
McLaren stood him in front of the jukebox, had him mouth Alice Cooperâs âIâm Eighteenâ and declared him their new lead singer. Jones noticed the mung on Lydonâs never-brushed teeth, and christened him Johnny Rotten.â McLaren amped up the new bandâs notoriety with a stunt that featured the Pistols performing âGod Save the Queenâ on a barge during the same week of the Queenâs Silver Jubilee.
In the 1970s, Mr. McLaren returned to his native London from New York, where he had briefly managed the New York Dolls in the waning days of that bandâs initial flush of fame. McLaren set about putting together his own rock act of untested British youth, which became the Sex Pistols.
