COAS says trilateral meetings held in Afghanistan
RAWALPINDI: While commenting upon recent reports of his meetings in Afghanistan, the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that during his last two visits to Kabul, he has met President Karzai to discuss issues of mutual interests.
On both these occasions, ex-commander Isaf General Stanley McChrystal was also present.
This transparent trilateral engagement augurs well for the comfort level of the leadership of all prime stakeholders and strengthens the existing relationship.

After the Lost finale was the Jimmy Kimmel Live special, Aloha to Lost, sending off the recently-concluded series into limbo. Several of the show’s stars popped by to recall their favorite moments of the show, with producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse presenting three alternate endings, and Kimmel getting a chance to poke fun at that.
That’s done now, and I don’t know what to make of it either.
Honestly, though, it’s hard to squeeze in six seasons worth of fond memories into an hour-long show. So, while we get some interesting bits from some members of the cast–Matthew Fox, Terry O’Quinn, Michael Emerson and Emilie de Ravin were on the show, among others–it mostly seemed like an underwhelming send-off. But maybe that is the point.
With that said, here are the highlights of Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost. Trust me, I tried squeezing things out.
Matthew Fox on the show’s ending: “What’s beautiful is that there’s room for interpretation depending on their spiritual beliefs.”
Michael Emerson on talk that he and Terry O’Quinn are hoping to work together again after Lost: “We try to think that kind of double-act we can do later in life, but once in a while we have a half-clever idea that we’re pitching around in street corners.”

Josh Holloway thinks he’s a 70-year-old beer-drinking man.
The 40-year-old actor loves the thought of growing older and being able to relax because it will be the complete opposite of his current hectic life.
He said: “I love the comfort zone. In my mind, I am a 70-year-old man with a fly rod in one hand and a beer in the other. But that’s not the world of creativity. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy the comfort when you’ve found a zone. But you must always evolve.”
The ‘Lost’ actor – who recently posed for the front cover of Men’s Health magazine – has also vowed to strip off and pose without his shirt when he eventually turns 70, so he can show off his “buddha gut”.
He laughed: “I will be that guy! And I’ll be unapologetic. I’ll be happy to show my Buddha gut, because it will certainly be out. And I will have earned it.”

Yes, this challenge on our favorite NASCAR sewing race left us totally befuddled. Our hapless designers had to use their past winning looks as inspiration for a new look that would accompany them. So, it’s kind of like take a winner and try to do it again. That makes sense. However, if the winner looks are such duds, that they don’t’t really make for such great touchstones to launch into the future. And Logan’s wasn’t even a winner. It was the only piece of his clothing they actually like that isn’t the tight, shiny pants that he wears that make his little tush look so tasty! Then guess what happened? They gave them some money, told them go to Mood and make whatever the fuck they want. Way to really mix it up and get them out of their comfort zone by having access to the exact same materials they had access to before and telling them to make something just like something they made in the past.
