As a biography, not much is known about Jacob “Jake” Harris. His is 24 years old. He is most-known as one of two sons to Captain Phil Harris from the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch”. Jake and his brother Joshua (Josh) served on the fishing vessel called, “Cornelia Marie” as deckhands.
According to reports, Deadliest Catch’s Phil Harris’ son was reportedly accused of a hit-and-run accident and fled the scene traveling northbound on Interstate 5. It is said that he seemed to be impaired following the stop at the exit of Mercer Street, close to Downtown Seattle.
Futhermore, Dan McDonald, a spokesperson for the Washington State patrol said that the BMW 3 Series he was driving happened to be registered to his late father that which he was seen driving “erratically”. In addition, he was driving with a suspended license. So Jake was taken into custody on misdemeanor charges including: Hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license, and suspicion of DUI.
In the event leading up to the arrest, McDonald stated that Harris “failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a toxicological test … After further investigation, it was found that he was involved in a hit and run with another occupied vehicle earlier in the evening. He had rear-ended another car.”
It is said that he was booked at a nearby jail and held on $2000 bail.

Phil Harris Died Cornelia Marie, Captain Phil Harris Dead: Captain
Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie has passed away yesterday. The news comes as a great shock to both his families. The reason that I say both his families is because he was loved by so many around the world and he considered his television crew on the Discovery channel to be a part of his family. With his show “The Deadliest Catch” being aired in over a hundred and fifty countries worldwide the news is sure to spread like wild fire.
Phil Harris, Captain of Cornelia Marie was also a deep sea diver and was just fifty-three when he suffered from a stroke on the twenty-ninth of January. Though his family members were of the hope and wish that he may recuperate from his condition, it was not the case. Devastated by the news his sons Jake Harris and Josh Harris stated that he was a fighter.
After undergoing a lengthy duration of twelve hours of surgery Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie was put into a medically stimulated coma. Though there were some signs of his health improving just a few days ago, Phil Harris could not make it through.
Many of his followers have been overwhelmed by the news with one of them holding the view of Phil Harris being the most ‘real’ captain on the show. As followers of “The Deadliest Catch” mourn his sudden death at such an early age one significant point is raised through this incident that life indeed is short and may be taken from us at any time.

Deadliest Catch Captain Dies, Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the coast of Alaska were captured on the hit Discovery Channel series Deadliest Catch, died at a hospital near Anchorage late Tuesday. He was 53.
Harris suffered a stroke while in port off-loading at St. Paul Island in Alaska on Jan. 30. Despite promising reports about his health, Phil never fully recovered and passed away with his family at his side.
According to The Associated Press, Harris started working on fishing boats at age 7 and started work 10 years later on a crab boat.
