Lint prices fall by Rs 1000 per maund

Seedcotton prices which had gone up by about Rs 600 per 40 kg since the beginning of this month have fallen by nearly Rs 300 per 40 kg. Similarly, lint prices which had achieved the historic high level of about Rs 11,000 per maund (37.32 kgs) have fallen by about Rs 1,000 per maund.Sindh cotton prices which had reached historically high range between Rs 10,700 to Rs 10,800 per maund have fallen to range from Rs 9,500 to Rs 10,000 per maund. In the Punjab lint prices which had earlier touched the record range of Rs 10,900 to Rs 11,000 per maund also ranged lower from Rs 9,500 to Rs 10,000 per maund on Tuesday.

Ready sale of cotton till Thursday evening comprised of 1,000 bales from Shahdadpur in Sindh at Rs 9,500 to Rs 10,000 per maund (37.32 Kgs), 600 bales from Sanghar at Rs 9,700 per maund while 800 bales from Tando Adam were said to have been sold at Rs 9,800 to Rs 10,000 per maund. In the Punjab, 1,000 bales from Bahawalnagar reportedly sold at Rs 9,500 per maund while 1,000 bales from Burewalla were said to have been sold from Rs 9,500 to Rs 9,700 per maund.

Cotton hits historic high

The international as well as the local cotton prices hit a record high, trendpk.Com reported on Sunday.
The local price of the commodity reached 10,000 rupees per 40 kg. After the international increase in prices, the local price of cotton also experienced an increase of 500 rupees. On the other hand per bale of cotton witnessed an increase of 100 rupees per 40 kg to become 4400 rupees.
According to the sources after the increase in the international price of the commodity, the Indian traders have refused to deliver the pledged quantity of the commodity on previous reduced rates. Consequently local markets are also witnessing an increase in the price of cotton.

The local as well as the international prices have increased to a new unprecedented level, trendpk.Com reported on Saturday.

The cotton price in the local market has reached 9500 rupees per 40 kg. after an increase in the international cotton prices, the price level of the commodity also jumped up in the local markets. This week witnessed an increase of 1000 rupees per 40 kg of cotton.

On the other hand the cotton price in the international market has reached new record level of 1.60 dollars for urgent delivery.

Cotton prices hit a record high both in global and local markets, reaching Rs 9,000 per ton in Pakistan. Indian traders have stopped export of cotton to Pakistan.
According to Ginners Association Executive Member Ehsanul Haq, rise in cotton prices at international markets caused surge locally.
US cotton futures finished Tuesday at a fresh all-time high on worries over tight supplies and an overnight surge in China’s cotton prices. Cotton rose more than 20 percent in October and is up nearly 85 percent since the beginning of the rally in July.

Cotton prices hit a record high both in global and local markets with Rs 8,800 per 40kg in Pakistan.
According to Ginners Association Executive Member Ehsanul Haq, rise in cotton prices at international markets caused a Rs300 surge locally. In international markets, the prices rose to 149 cents per pounds with 33 percent raise. Due to the recent devastating floods, cotton production in Pakistan has reduced drastically, below than the domestic industrial needs.

Cotton export on despite shortage

Despite a steep decline of in cotton generation, i.e less than 40,000 bales, the commodity export has been initiated instead of its import.
The textile industry needed a 1,600,0000 bales of cotton for its needs, while according to a rough estimate around 1,200,0000 bales would be generated. Due to rise of cotton prices in the international market, exporters have turned to Pakistan for purchase.

Cotton prices surge as international production decreases

Cotton prices stared increasing internationally after the news of lesser production than the total estimates. Per 40 kg price exceeded 8000 rupees in the New York cotton exchange.Local cotton prices also witnessed an increase after the international increase.Per 40 kg price of cotton went up by 100 rupees in the local markets to reach 7200 rupees in Punjab and 7300 in Sindh. A week ago, the international cotton prices were less than that of the local prices. However bullish trend was seen after the reports of reduced cotton production by American Agriculture Department.
