Pakistan seeks details of Samjhota bombing probe
Pakistan said on Monday to go ahead with the investigations of gruesome incident of Samjhota Express. Indian deputy high commissioner was summoned to Foreign Office in this regard. Foreign Office DG South Asia Afrasiyab informed the Indian deputy high commissioner that media reports were being surfaced on Samjhota Express incident but India didnt inform Pakistan about the investigations of the incident which was occurred in 2007. He emphasized that India should inform Pakistan about the incident as soon as possible.Meanwhile, foreign office spokesman Abdul Basit said, It took almost four years for the Samjhauta Express investigations to come to this pass. We can only hope that no further time will be squandered in bringing the criminals to justice.
78 kidnapper gangs operate in Quetta: DIG

QUETTA: Total 78 kidnapper gangs are operating in the city and the police have succeeded to bust many of them while arresting their members with many other criminals, it has been said by the Deputy Inspector General (operations) of Quetta on Sunday.
The DIG (operations), Hamid Shakil held a combined press conference with the DIG (investigations),Wazir Khan Nasir, in CCPO office Quetta.
Hamid Shakil informed the journalists that the police have captured, during last two months, 35 members of the kidnapper gangs with 150 other criminals and seized a large quantity of explosives, motor cycles and other vehicles.
He added while replying to a question that during the month of Muharam-ul-Haram, the law and order will be maintained at any cost in the city and the Shiite Ulema, Shiite Conference and others are being consulted with to make it
Gilani meets Ban to discuss flood aftermath
A meeting is being held between Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who reached Pakistan this morningSunday.
The PM thanked Ban for taking personal interest in the flood crises facing the country. Sources said that both the men would discuss the flood situation and the destruction the natural calamity caused across the country. Earlier, UN chief Ban Ki-moon arrived in Islamabad to visit areas devastated by the countrys worst floods in history and to hold talks on relief efforts. He was greeted by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at Chaklala Airbase. Ban told reporters that he was in Pakistan to share the sympathy and solidarity of the United Nations with the people and government of Pakistan. Im here also to urge the world community to speed up their assistance to the Pakistani people, he said. We will try to mobilise all necessary assistance and remember that the whole world is behind the people of Pakistan in this time of trial. Up to 20 million people face direct or indirect harm. The United Nations believes 1,600 people have died, while Islamabad has confirmed 1,343 deaths.Ban would carry out an aerial view of the affected areas along with President Zardari besides visiting some relief camps in southern Punjab. The UN chief would also hold a joint press briefing with Zardari sometime in evening today.
Two dacoits lynched in Sialkot
Angry people lynched two dacoits for killing two people on resistance in Sialkot and hung their bodies in a chowk on Sunday.
The dacoits allegedly set up a picket at Daska Road in the limits of Saddar Police Station and looting people. Meanwhile, the robbers gunned down two boys namely Bilal Shaukat (25) and Bilal Sabir (12) on resistance. On this, the locals gathered there and tortured the criminals to death after tying them in the presence of police and later hung their bodies in the chowk. The locals held a protest demonstration and called upon the authorities concerned to take action against the negligent cops.
Govt should respect verdicts of judiciary: Nawaz
Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Nawaz Sharif said that the leaders are exercising their energies to protect looted wealth. He said that the government should take immediate steps to get rid of leaders whose names have been nominated in NRO.
Nawaz Sharif was speaking to representatives of the media after convening a high level consultative meeting in the government house Murree. He urged the government to constitute concrete policies which would improve the economy. He alleged that government leaders are trying to mold the laws suited best for their own interest.
Sharif urged the government to respect the verdicts of judiciary and demanded the government to take action against the criminals responsible for target killings in Karachi and Balochistan. He also demanded the government to provide maximum relief for the masses in the upcoming budget.
Shooting in Karachi, 2 Hurt
KARACHI, Pakistan News: At least 2 persons were injured when some unknown assailants opened fire on them as they were sitting outside a hotel here at Rashid Minhas Road while the criminals were succeeded to flee, sources said.
According to police, the injured were identified as Mohammad Umer (18) son of Mohammad Ismael and Mohammed Arif (31) son of Mohammed Zain.
The incident was also reported at Azizabad police station and the injured persons were shifted to JPMC hospital for medical treatment.
