NFL Draft Pick Dez Bryant ‘Troubled’ Over Lesbian Mom
Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant opened up about his relationship with his lesbian mother.
On Thursday, Bryant was selected 24th in the NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys and spoke with the Dallas Morning News about his “troubled’ family life and his mom, Angela, who had him at the young age of 15 and later came out as lesbian.
Bryant, who grew up in a conservative town of about 32,000 located in the heart of the Bible Belt in a small Texas town, says he has become “comfortable” with his mother’s “change in sexual orientation” – but he still has issues about it, reports the Advocate.
“I didn’t like it. Really, I still don’t,” he said. “I dealt with it and now I’m comfortable with it.”
Angela Bryant said she was honest with him early on because they have no secrets in their relationship.
“It hurt me that it hurt him. I’m very happy about the relationship that we have,” she said. “I wasn’t close with my parents, so it’s important for me to be close with my kids. I’m not a typical mom, but my kids know I love them. They can tell me anything and I’ll do anything for them.”
Dez’s mom supported her son’s athletic career and according to the Dallas Morning News, she attended most of his games at Oklahoma State, making the eight-hour drive from Lufkin to Stillwater with Dez’s best friend. She once took an 18-hour bus ride to see his college debut against Georgia in 2007.

Jay Novacek Wife
Jay Novacek Wife, found dead at her mother’s home Yesterday morning. Jay Novacek the former Cowboys player’s wife LeAnne Novacek was 45 years old at the time of her death according to Tarrant County medical examiner office’s spokesperson.
Sally Ellerston the spokeswoman for Texas police department said, fire and police department officers responded to an emergency call at 08:35 A.M at Burleson regarding a possible suicide. Furthermore she said, the police officers found the dead body of LeAnne Novacek in the bedroom of the house.
Reportedly Jay Novacek’s wife was staying with her mother at her residence, where she was found dead.
According to recent reports police called the Tarranct County Corner office victim’s assistance coordinator and other officials at the crime scene for further investigations. It has been reported that an autopsy will be performed today on Tuesday to determine the cause of the death, while police investigations are ongoing.
Police have said that, the apparent cause of the death is a
self-inflicted gunshot, but nothing is clear at this point until autopsy and other reports confirm the death cause.
In 90’s Jay Novacek joined the Dallas Cowboys team and played six seasons with the team. Jay was ranked 9th in Cowboys team history with over 3, 575 career receiving years.
The former Cowboy’s player was forced to retire in 1997 due to a back injury. Jay Novacek along his wife continued to live in the West Texas area after his retirement and joined the Alltel Wireless “Yards 4 youth American Football” program after his retirement as a spokesperson.
