Pakistan Cricket Board was not able to meet the dead line of ICC for announcement of preliminary squad for the world cup. ICC after reviewing the application of PCB had extended the dead line for announcement of preliminary squad. Now PCB has dead line of 5th December to announce the squad for the world cup.

The reason for the delay was that the players were not getting clearance from PCB. Now PCB has asked players to submit their replies to the integrity committee of PCB. Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik and Danish Kaneria were three players who didn’t get clearance from PCB. Now these players will submit their replies to committee.

PCB didn’t select these three players for the NZ tour and also not announce any reason for this. According to estimates their might be some instruction from ICC for not including the players in the squad. PCB didn’t announce the ODI team for the tour and it is expected that after clearance all three players will get their place in the squad.

Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik were not happy after the decision of not including them in the team. They demanded that PCB should tell them the reason for not selecting them even after they performed well in the Domestic.

Pakistan’s spinner Danish Kaneria is looking to get clearance from PCB for his inclusion in the 30 men preliminary squad for the world cup 2011. He said that he is cooperating with PCB and is fully confident that he will get clearance soon. He said he is fully cooperating with board’s integrity committee and telling them whatever they asked him. He added that his cooperation will be helpful for him in getting board clearance.

Kaneria added that he has provided the details of his bank accounts and properties. He added that he has details of all his assets.

Earlier he was selected for South Africa series and was stopped just minute before he was schedule to flight. He along with Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik is not able to get PCB clearance for selection.

He was charged for spot fixing in England while he was playing county. He was also under the criminal investigations. He was investigated by Essex police and was alleged for spot fixing. Later he was released when found no charges against him. Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal both have shown disappointment after not getting board clearance. PCB has asked ICC for the player clearance and it is probable that they might include in NZ ODI squad and 30 men World Cup Squad also.

PCB has postponed the announcement of 30 probables for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2011. The decision was expected today but due to some reasons PCB has delayed it.

According to sources, there are strong chances of dropping Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Danish Kaneria, Muhamamd Younas and Rana Naveedul Hassan.

Preparations for New Zealand tour have been completed but team for the tour has not yet finalized. Training camp was held in Qaddafi Stadium in which more focus was on fitness, bowling and fielding techniques. Javed Miandad has also taught batting techniques to junior players. And at the end to training camp today, it was expected that PCB would announce 30 players for World Cup 2011 but the announced has been delayed.

According to media reporting in Pakistan three Pakistani players Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik and Danish Kaneria will not be a part of Pakistani squad for the world cup. These players are not selected for the tour of New Zealand and according to reports they will not be in World Cup 2011 squad.

In the domestic cricket of Pakistan Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik performed well but still not picked by Pakistani selectors. The training camp for preparation of NZ tour has stated today and player reported and participated in the training secession.

Pakistan’s team manager Intakhab Alam said that there is a lot of potential in Pakistani players and they are lot better then New Zealand team. He also said that better cricket is expected in New Zealand’s tour.

It is also announce that world cup squad will be announce in New Zealand. The chance of coming back in team for Kamran Akmal, Shoadb Malik and Denish Kaneria is very few.

Zulqarnain Haider Loses Another Lawyer

Pakistan’s former wicketkeeper batsman Zulkernain Haider is losing his legal team. He is in difficulties and the he himself is the reason of all problems. Pakistan team is in difficulties since their agent Mazher Majeed named Pakistani player and alleged them for helping him in spot fixing. Zulkernain also said that he received threats from unknown person and added that his family also has some threats and demanded full security to his family.

According to local media channel, ‘Geo News’ in Pakistan, they have received a video tape of Mazher Majeed in which he was accusing seven Pakistani players for involving in spot fixing. Salman butt, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Amir has already suspended by ICC for spot fixing and their final hearing will be conducted in Qatar in January.

KARACHI: Pakistan omitted senior batsman and former captain Mohammad Yousuf on Tuesday from their squads for their tour of New Zealand next month.

Yousuf, one of Pakistan’s leading test batsmen, had to return home with a groin injury from Dubai last month without playing in the tests against South Africa. He has subsequently played domestic cricket.

He was not named in either the test or Twenty20 squads announced by The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) while wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and leg-spinner Danish Kaneria have again been overlooked.

“The one-day squad will be announced later on as first the team plays three T20 matches and two tests, and the ODI series starts from January 22,” a PCB spokesman said.

U.S. to deploy tanks in Afghan war: report

WASHINGTON: The United States is sending battle tanks to Afghanistan for the first time in the nine-year-old war against the Taliban, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

Citing unnamed U.S. officers and defense officials, the paper said General David Petraeus, commander of the U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, approved the deployment last month.

“The deployment of a company of M1 Abrams tanks, which will be fielded by the Marines in the country’s southwest, will allow ground forces to target insurgents from a greater distance, and with more of a lethal punch, than is possible from any other U.S. military vehicle,” the Post said.

The initial deployment calls for 16 tanks to be used in parts of Helmand province, where fighting rages between Marines and Taliban guerrillas, the paper said.
