Suicide blast kills 50 in Darra Adam Khel mosque
At least 50 people have been killed and 100 others got injured when a suicide blast ripped through a mosque in Darra Adam Khel during Friday prayers. Tehreek-e-Taliban has claimed responsibility of the blast.
The blast was occurred in a mosque of Akhorwal, an area of Darra Adam Khel, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to an eye witness, it was a suicide blast and the bomber blew himself up before the gate of the mosque. Whereas, companions of the bomber, who were outside the mosque, opened fire. The mosque has been totally destroyed while nearby houses and buildings have also been damaged in the blast. Relief activities have been started and the injured are being shifted to hospitals of Peshawar and Kohat. A number of people are still trapped under the debris but efforts are being made to pull them out. At least 50 injured have been shifted to Lady Reading hospital Peshawar.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain has confirmed that it was a suicide blast. He said that war against militants will be continued till their complete eradication. He said that these attacks can not demoralize us.
Senior Minister Bashir Bilour said that suicide attackers cannot be Muslims or even human beings.

KOHAT: At least 30 people were killed and scores of others wounded after a suicide bomber ripped through a crowded mosque in Darra Adam Khel on Friday.
The blast took place at a time when people were offering Friday prayers.
Confirming the suicide attack, Kohat’s commissioner said roof of the mosque has collapsed, leaving dozens of people stranded under the rubble.
The commissioner said that rescue efforts are under way to rescue the stranded people.
According to reports, a large number of people were present in the mosque at the time of the blast.
Law enforcement agencies reached the scene and cordoned off the area.

Karachi Traders’ Alliance Rejected Oil Price Hike
Karachi, Pakistan News: Karachi Traders’ Alliance rejected oil price hike notification, while the public also reacted strongly against the move and called for immediate reversal of the decision.
Earlier, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has issued notification for increase of POL prices. After the increase of Rs 6.10 the new Petrol price is Rs 71.21 per liter while Light Diesel after a hike of Rs 2.97 stands at Rs 61.07 per liter. Kerosene Oil stands at Rs64.06 per liter after an increase of Rs3.32; High Speed diesel rose by Rs 3.33 and is being sold at Rs 71.89 per liter and HOBC increased by Rs 7.31 stands at Rs 89.33 per liter.
Dr Salman urges public to slash expenditure
Economist Dr Salman Shah, while talking to Dunya News, enlisted the reasons behind POL price hike, said that the Finance Ministry’s was facing loss in terms of revenue generation, adding that country’s economy is at stake besides Friends of Pakistan aid has not reached in the country so far.
He observed that decline in oil prices in international markets was the biggest reason behind the price hike locally to address the loss. He urged the public to cut its expenditures on self-help basis.

Over 60 To Vie for NA-123
Pakistan News: As many as 60 candidates have filed their nomination papers for NA-123 so far.
As per the Supreme Court ruling, the candidates who have earlier submitted their nominations did not have to file them again.
However, the new candidates have to submit their nomination papers till February 4. According to a notification released by Returning Officer, the papers would be reviewed till February 8. The nomination papers could be taken back till February 17 while the final list would be issued on February 18.

38 Militants killed in Bajaur Agency
Pakistan News: Around 38 militants have been killed as security forces resorted to helicopter gunship shelling in Bajaur Agency during the last 24 hours.
According to official sources, some eight militants’ hideouts have been destroyed in Tehsil Mamond and Salarzai. Curfew was being imposed in Khar. Gunship helicopters hit militants’ hideouts in Gung, Banda, Mulla Syed, Damma Dolla, while the people have started migration to safer places.
Meanwhile, security forces have nabbed some 20 suspects in Darra Adam Khel while defused two remote-controlled bombs and three IEDs.
