Spell of dense fog likely to persist in Punjab
A spell of dense fog from tomorrow will be experienced in most parts of Punjab due to decreasing temperatures, trendpk.com reporter on Monday.
According to the Meteorological Department, the spell of dense fog and further decrease in temperature is likely to persist in Punjab. Met department has also forecasted a light rain starting from Wenesday in Sialkot, Gujranawala, Gujrat and few parts of Lahore. On the other hand, motorway is also opened for the traffic due to enough visibility.
Onion prices decline in Lahore markets
Lahore trendpk.com: Onion prices went down in Lahore markets due to import of the commodity from Sindh. In wholesale markets, onion was being sold at Rs 40 per kg.
According to market sources, price of the commodity has seen decline during last few days, and import from Sindh is told to be main cause of the decrease. Price of onion is recorded at Rs 50 per kg in retail markets. Onion is being exported to India at Rs 32 per kg while traders are preferring local market due to high price.
OGRA slashes PoL prices
OGRA has slightly slashed the PoL prices whereas price of kerosene oil has been increased by 23 paisas. New prices would be effective from October 1.
During a press conference in Islamabad, OGRA officials announced this decrease. It reduced petrol price by 27 paisas per litre and diesel price by 78 paisas per litre. Petrols new price would be 66.99 per litre and diesel would be available at 73.82 per litre.
The revision in prices was necessitated due to change in the Arab Gulf petroleum product prices over the month of September.

Falling Demand Witnesses LPG Price Cut
Due to a downfall in demand, LPG companies have reduced price of LPG per kg by Rs4.
Decrease of up to Rs 10 per kg is expected in the next few days. Marketing companies have decreased price of domestic cylinder by Rs 45 while commercial cylinder by Rs180.
After this decrease, cylinder price was recorded Rs845 in Lahore, Rs830 in Karachi, Rs860 in Peshawar, and Rs865 in Murree, FATA and Northern Areas. Rs3,960 decrease has been registered in price of per metric ton of LPG.
115 Percent Decrease In Cement Sector Profit
During the first six months of the current fiscal year, decrease in cement prices accounted for the decrease of profitability in the sector.
According to a report by Invest Cap Securities, cement worth Rs 12.1 billion was sold during the first six months of fiscal year 2009, however cement worth Rs 58.3 billion during the same period last year consequently significant drop of 115 percent profitability was recorded.
The recent reductions in coal prices have reduced the overall cement sector spending. The sector margin stands at 23 percent after decrease of eight percent. The prices increased by Rs 16 due to increase in demand.

Crude Closes Below $75, At the end of the trading week crude oil closes down below $75 per barrel.
Due to decline in the prices of lube, American refineries have also decreased their average production by 2.9% and are operating at 78%. Rise in the price of Dollar is also having a negative impact on the prices of oil. Excessive production by OPEC is also contributing to the decrease of prices. According to experts due to sufficient supply of oil in the market a decline in oil prices is being witnessed.

Slight Decrease in Gold Prices
Slight Decrease in Gold Prices, Slight decrease in gold prices was recorded in local and international markets on Saturday.
Gold prices fell to Rs 35,800 per tola, down Rs 50 whereas price of 10 grams lowered to Rs 30,685, down Rs 43 in the local markets including Karachi. In international markets, gold price lowered to $1094, down $1 per ounce.
