Desperate Housewives – stars react to news of show’s end
TrendPK.com: ABC announced over the weekend that the upcoming season of “Desperate Housewives” would be the show’s last.
Sunday night, several stars of the long-running evening soap opera were swarmed by press and asked for their thoughts after seven seasons of murder, mystery and mayhem.
“I was glad that it was finally out there and decided, because I felt like it was coming and I was saying, ‘Hey guys, i think this is coming,’ and everybody was saying ‘no,’ ‘ Marcia Cross told THR.
Almost all of the actors asked expressed a feeling of sadness but relief, knowing they can go into their final season with the knowledge that they can end it on their own terms.
“I think we probably could have gone to nine,” said Felicity Huffman, “but I think it was too much of a risk to take and they really value creator Marc Cherry and the show.”
“You go into acting jail at the end of these things because it’s hard for anyone to see you as anything other than Lynette Scavo or whatever it is,” she added. “So I think it’s unwise to look at the carnage around you of past television actresses and go, ‘Well it’s not going to happen to me.’
“It probably will, which is why I’m planning on opening supermarkets and gas stations.”

In tonight’s Desperate Housewives season finale, the show welcomed back — as a series regular — Mark Moses as literal lady killer Paul Young. But that’s old news. Here’s some new news: When we return to Wisteria Lane next fall, he just might be joined by the amazing Harriet Samson Harris as his victim’s vigilante sister, Felicia.
“There was some talk about [me coming back] a year ago,” Moses tells me. “And there’s often talk in Hollywood. Sometimes it pans out, sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t get super-excited about a ‘maybe’ in this town, because there are lots of maybes that don’t happen. But then this last year they called up my agent and said, ‘We’re really thinking seriously about [this].’ And eventually, they made an offer, and I was very pleased.”Viewers are likely to be stoked, too. Though, as Moses notes, “the creative aspect of [Paul's 'homecoming'] remains to be seen… I doubt I’ll come back as a reformed prisoner.”

Nicollette Sheridan Sues ‘Desperate Housewives’ Creator Over Firing
Nicollette Sheridan has left ‘Desperate Housewives,’ but she clearly has not abandoned the explosive plot lines.
Sheridan has filed a lawsuit against ‘Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry, saying he struck her across the face on the set, according to TMZ. She alleges that when she complained, she was fired.
According to legal papers obtained by the Web site, Sheridan is suing for $20 million claiming assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination.
In the lawsuit, Sheridan claims Cherry created a hostile work environment by “behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show.”
Things worsened between Sheridan and Cherry in the fifth season. Sheridan claims on September 24, 2008, he physically assaulted her after she questioned him about something in the script. According to the lawsuit, “Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head.”
According to the suit, after the alleged incident, Cherry went to her trailer to “beg forgiveness.”
A spokesperson for ‘Desperate Housewives’ gave this statement to PopEater in response to the story: “While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit.”
According to TMZ, Sheridan claims that Cherry directed his abuse at other cast and crew members, including star Teri Hatcher after she went above his head to ABC executives.
“I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies,” Cherry told Sheridan, according to TMZ’s account of the lawsuit.
Sheridan’s character, realtor Edie Britt, was killed off the show last year.
