Jahvid Best Concussion Video,Jahvid Best Concussion:This season has not gone as it could have, maybe should have, for Cal’s Jahvid Best. He was a fringe Heisman candidate on a top-five team early in the season, flying high heading into the Pac-10 schedule. Then he and the Golden Bears crashed against Oregon and USC, dropping two straight by a 72-6 tally as Best could only muster 102 yards in those two outings combined.Cal’s Jahvid Best suffered a horrific injury on Saturday when the running back vaulted into the endzone and landed awkwardly, rendering him immobile. Best, who lost his helmet when he fell to the ground, was a Heisman Trophy hopeful.
While Best’s teammates kneeled on the field and prayed for his well being, medical staffers rushed to the running back’s aid. Placing his body on a gurney, a white sheet over his legs and torso, and an oxygen mask on his face, Best was rushed to the hospital.
An injury update on Best reveals that test results have since come back negative. Head coach Jeff Tedford also confirmed that Best had movement of his extremities. Best did, however, suffer a concussion.
“His eyes were a blank stare, and he was just trying to breathe,” said Cal quarterback Kevin Riley, who described what Best looked like after the devasting injury. Riley blocked for Best on the play, which was a direct snap to the running back.
Cal, who played Oregon State, lost 31-14.

Tommie Harris,Chicago Sun Times Sports:Defensive tackle Tommie Harris has been ejected following the fourth play from scrimmage after he punched Arizona Cardinals right guard Deuce Lutui in the facemask when he was on top of him.
The incident happened at the end of a 13-yard run by running back Tim Hightower. Harris was on top of Lutui at the end of the play, and referee Ed Hochuli was just feet behind Harris.
It’s another bizarre incident in a bizarre season for Harris, who was benched for the game at Cincinnati two weeks ago.
Harris has a de-escalating roster bonus in 2012 that has already been reduced to $6.5 million. The bonus is tied to playing time and Pro Bowl appearances, and Harris stands almost no chance of hitting the playing time threshold of 74 percent for this season. That’s going to be a nearly impossible figure after he missed one entire game and was kicked out of the very beginning of another one.
Harris faces potential discipline from the league over this, a penalty that will likely come in the form of a fine.
We’ll see if Harris is around to answer questions about the incident after the game.
