PPP’s MNA resigns over murder of coordinator
KARACHI: Qadir Patel, a PPP’s member national assembly and Chairman of NA standing committee for Interior affairs, has announced resignation from two offices in a bid to register protest against killing of his coordinator Eidi Ameen Khaskheli and former councilor Abdul Ghani Bachani by unidentified gunmen on late Friday, Geo news reported.
According to police sources, the incident occurred when three unknown gunmen, riding motorcycle, opened fire resulting in deaths of Eidi Ameen Khaskheli and Abdul Ghani Bachani.
Both deceased were the activists of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) while corpses have been moved to Civil hospital for autopsy, police sources confirmed to media.
Talking to media at hospital, MNA Qadir Patel announced resignation from chairmanship of NA standing committee and from membership of national assembly, saying one does not have to be genius to certain who should be responsible for target killing incidents in Karachi.
I don’t want to name terrorists who carried out assassination in order not to disrupt peace in Karachi, he noted.
I will continue working for PPP afterwards as an activist but cannot allow my conscience to keep two positions following this incident, he added.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News: Pakistan Air Force received Sweden Saab-2000 aircraft today.
The ceremony was attended by Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman as chief guest at Kamra Airbase.
With the induction of this aircraft, Pakistan has become one of the few air forces in the world to have Airborne Early Warning capability.
Besides detecting high- and medium-altitude aircraft, this state-of-the-art system is also capable of detecting low-level flying objects over land and sea at extended ranges. The system is capable of picking even the surface targets over the sea.

2500 Shops Gutted in Arson Attacks: Karachi
KARACHI, Pakistan News: Around 2500 shops have been gutted in arson incidents in the business district of Karachi after Youm-e-Ashur suicide attack at a mourning procession in the metropolis that killed 40 people and injured several others.
The fire tenders still fighting blazes raging in the area located largest wholesale markets of the country.
Several vehicles were also set on fire after the bombing.
A traders body leader Fahim Noori has said the traders have suffered rs 20 to 30 billion losses in arson attacks in which 1500 to 3000 shops were set on fire by the miscreants.
Fahim Noori posed question the authorities, who provide such dangerous inflammable material to the miscreants, which rapidly spread the fire.
President Karachi Chamber has called a meeting this afternoon to set strategy, he said.

Terrorists Want to Disrupt Peace in Country: PM Gilani
GWADAR, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the terrorists are serving as the stumbling block in the way for the national progress.
Talking to media, he appealed to the citizens of Karachi to stay calm and said that terrorists have no religion, adding we would accomplish the terrorists’ agenda by disrupting the peace of the city.
The PM Gilani said the government enjoys support from the political and religious leadership against the terrorism, adding the terrorists are working as the speed breaker for the national development.
