Shoaib Malik Named As Punjab’s Captain

Former Pakistani captain and off spinner Shoaib Malik is appointed as captain for the Punjab team. He has been name as captain after he is facing difficulties. He is also not selected in Pakistani world cup squad and also facing allegation of illegal money transferred to his account from India. He was not able to satisfy the PCB fact Finding committee.

While playing from PIA he has scored 799 runs in 2010-11 during the Quaid-e-Azam trophy. Lahore Shalimar’s team twp players Usman Salahuddin and Saad Nasim are also included in Punjab’s tam as reserve players. They are not selected in the final team.

Punjab team selected also included Imran Farhat and former Pakistani captain Muhammad Yousaf. Both these players are also not included in the world cup squad. Baluchistan team has still to name their captain. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited leg spinner Yasir Shah has been named as captain for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team. Iftakhar Anjum will captain the Fedral Areas team.

World cup is also approaching and Pentangular tournament is also starting. Cricket season is starting and fans are ready to have fun.

Lee hopeful over comeback to ODI cricket

WELLINGTON: Brett Lee may in the twilight of his career and having to knock hard on the door to regain a place in the Australian one-day international cricket side but the fast bowler is not about to button off his pace.

Lee, 34, arrived in Wellington today to play five matches for Wellington in the domestic Twenty20 championship beginning with tomorrow’s encounter against Auckland at the Basin Reserve and said he was still bowling at a fair clip.

Lee, who retired from Test cricket earlier this year, put his hand up for a recall to the Australian one-day side when he helped guide his New South Wales side to a three-run victory over South Australia in a one-day championship match yesterday, conceding just four runs in the final over of the match.

4bff38ba081.jpg1 .jpg Brain Lara Wants To Make IPL EntranceLeft handed bats and former West Indies captain Brain Lara is showing some interest to make his IPL entrance. Lara has played in Zimbabwe’s Twenty20 competition. He is fit and wants to play IPL 2011, season.

Lara said that he needs to work on his fitness and to get chance of playing IPL he has to start working now. He added that fitness is the main thing behind the success and to play competitive matches he has to play regularly and regain form and fitness.

He is very optimistic about the future of his country’s cricket and he said that there is a lot of talent in West Indies and but there must be something wrong in the domestic setup that is not allowing the players to groom up properly.

Lara supported Darren Sammy as a captain and said that he is very committed player and he can lift up the spirit of the game. He added that he has all the good qualities of leader and he can lead the team any time.

Lara also played one season of ICL and he said that he has no regrets on what he done and it is past now. He excused to play ICL after playing its first season and now is planning to play IPL.

ICC order corruption unity

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has ordered all their full members to introduce an anti-corruption code into their domestic competitions by April 1 next year in order to mirror the guidelines used by the ICC at international level.

The sport’s global governing body wants the entire professional game to work under effectively the same code in a bid to stamp out match-fixing and spot-fixing.

ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said: “It would be of great benefit to all stakeholders within the game for all ICC members to adopt a domestic anti-corruption code and a template will immediately be sent to all full members.”

He added: “ICC has zero tolerance towards corruption and we will do everything we can to protect the integrity of our great sport. All members have a responsibility to demonstrate leadership and good practice in protecting the
