ICC Double Standard
ICC is showing double standards with different cricket boards.
ICC is taking strict actions against Pakistani player but they are showing leniency with other cricket boards. It was previously reported that many players were involved in match fixing in IPL. More then 20 players were alleged for their involvement in spot fixing. After the reports no action was taken by ICC.
IPL has cover of BCCI and ICC so it was their duty to take action for violations of code of conduct of ICC. ICC took no action against them. S Raina case is the recent case. Sri Lankan board has sent a video to ICC of S Raina’s activities. He was seen spending time with a woman who has close relations with bookies. It was again duty of ICC to investigate the matter but no actions again.
Sri Lankan cricketer Dilshan was also alleged for match fixing. A news paper claimed that he was seen with book maker during last year’s world cup. He was alleged for having links with book makers. He was also investigated by Sri Lankan Police but they haven’t found any thing against him.
ICC didn’t take any action on the cases of T Dilshan and S Raina but they are taking strict action against Pakistan. It seems to be a big controversy against Pakistan cricket.

NEW YORK — Greetings from Belmont Park on Belmont Stakes Day.
With 13 races spread between 11:35 a.m. and 7:50 p.m. this, indeed, is the longest, if not the greatest day in horse racing.
A few minutes ago I ran into Dave Litfin of the Daily Racing Form, my favorite public handicapper. I asked him “Should I just follow your selections today?” And he said “Sure, if you feel lucky.”
So why not? I’ve been on a terrible losing streak lately, so maybe I should take a different tack and let somebody else do the picking for a change.
But before the day begins, here are my picks for the big race, the $1 million Belmont Stakes:
1. Ice Box; 2. Drosselmeyer; 3. Fly Down; 4. Interactif.
Litfin, who handicaps races for a living likes Fly Down to win, followed by Ice Box and First Dude.
First race is at 11:35 a.m.. See you then.
Race 1: The top selection is Seis de Mayo, No. 4. The 6-5 morning line favorite is 1 for 2 lifetime and trainer Dominic Galluscio is dropping him from allowance company into a $15,000 claiming race for New York-breds which have never won two races. Besides being Litfin’s top selection, Seis de Mayo is the best bet of the day in the Daily Racing Form’s consensus of four selectors.
They have “rolling doubles” every race here. So I’m going to play $2 win and place on Seis de Mayo plus a $9 criss-cross with Litfins’s top three selections in the first race (Seis de Mayo, Camptown Blues and I Got Swagger) with his top three in the second race (Gracilia, Tapaline and Pearl River).
The result: I Got Swagger broke on top and led to the top of the stretch when he was overtaken by Camptown Blues (ridden by Jorge Chavez) who drew off and won by about 4 lengths and paid $11. Seis de Mayo was close for a while, but tired badly down the stretch. Camptown Blues is trained by Gary Contessa, one of the New York tracks’ top conditioners. Camptown Blues came into the race with earnings of $51,654, the biggest career bankroll in the race.
The bankroll: I’m out $4, but alive in the daily double with three horses.
Race 2: The selection, Gracilia, No.7, is a 3-year-old filly making her second career start after finishing sixth in her debut. Litfin says she got off slowly and was rushed up “behind and between horses” before fading. This is her first start for trainer David Cannizzo after leaving the barn of Bruce Levine.
I’m betting $2 win and place on Gracilia and wheeling Litfin’s top three selections — Tapaline, Pearl River and Gracilia — in the double with Wonder Beyond and Mr. Ryder.
The result: Strictly a two-horse race as Tapaline, the even-money favorite, out dueled Gracilia in the stretch. Gracilia paid $3.80 to place and the double returned a whopping $5.60. Tapaline, ridden by Rajiv Maragh for trainer John Kimmel, finished second as the favorite last out and was adding blinkers today.
The bankroll: I’m out $13.60, but alive with two horses in the double in the next race.
Race 3: This mile race on the turf for maidens looks very tough, but it’s easier after seven horses were scratched. After the scratches, Liftin’s surviving selections are Wonder Beyond and Mr. Ryder. The former looks like the horse to beat and the latter is a first-time starter that sold for $800,000 as a yearling. I’m going to bet $2 win-place on Wonder Beyond and box them both in a $12 exacta box with the two favorites– the Jimmy Jerkens-trained entry of Kells Blues and Devon Rock plus Avenging Spirit. Buckleupbuttercup, Seeking the Title (Seeking the Gold), Tidal Pool (Yankee Gentleman), Crisp (El Corredor), Indian Burn (Indian Charlie), Much Rejoicing, Dances With Ashley and Streaker (Forest Wildcat) finished the order under the wire after Hot Trip (Trippi) was withdrawn

India Beat South Africa Retain Number-One Spot
India has retained the number-one place in the ICC Test Championship after winning the Kolkata Test by an innings and 58 runs that has helped it to draw its two-Test series with South Africa.
India was in serious danger of losing its top spot after South Africa won the Nagpur Test last week and then bad weather yesterday[Wednesday] allowed only 31 overs of play on the penultimate day of the second Test. However, Harbhajan Singh took 5-59 and Amit Mishra bagged 3-78 as South Africa was bowled out for 289 despite a fighting 127 not out by Hashim Amla, his second century of the Test.
The series result means that the pre-series status-quo in terms of positions on the table is maintained though India has slipped to 124 ratings points after conceding one ratings point while South Africa has stayed second on 120 ratings points.
This also means that Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s side will not only retain the mace, which it received after defeating Sri Lanka last year in December, but will also pocket a cheque for US$175,000 which is presented to the side that reaches the 1 April cut-off date in top spot.

Shaun White s Gold Medal Run
Latest News Updates Shaun White s Gold Medal Run, Not that there was any doubt about it, but Shaun White is the best snowboarder alive. Wednesday night he successfully defended his 2006 men’s halfpipe gold medal. And yes, he did the Double McTwist 1260.

After a flawless first run, White found himself where he usually is — atop the leaderboard. Then, after every other snowboarder took their second shot at knocking him from his perch, he remained in first. Since only the best of two runs is counted in scoring, Shaun White already had his gold medal. Now he could have some fun.
With no pressure on him, White went, as he would call it, “heavy.” Huge, huge, enormous air, the now requisite double cork, and then to top things off, the trick that only he can do — the Double McTwist 1260. It’s a trick so amazing it doesn’t even have an official name, though White was overheard calling it the “Double Mc.” Works for me.
Fourty-eight point four. That was his finishing score. Unfortunate rhyme aside, that’s an outstanding mark. An entire 3.4 points higher than the silver medalist, Finland’s Peetu Piiroinen. And it was more than deserved.
In the past 12 months, White has advanced snowboarding more than it had been in the past 10 years. He’s the reason double corks were a necessity. He’s the reason that sponsors such as Nike and Microsoft care about snowboarding. Shaun White is more important to his sport than any athlete on the planet, and this is coming from an enormous NBA fan. Basketball could survive without LeBron James. Snowboarding would go nowhere without Shaun White.
That’s why it’s so awesome to see someone so transcendent perform so well on the sport’s biggest stage. It’s not every day that you get to witness greatness, or see history being made, but that’s the case with Shaun White. He keeps getting better when he’s already the best.
