Fashion Show to Showcase Bridal Collection, A fashion show was organised to showcase a bridal collection, which will be launched later at upcoming store Maya, in India’s western Mumbai city.
A shop of Gitanjali Outfits ‘Maya’ has bridal wear collections designed by renowned fashion designers such as Neeta Lulla, Archana Kochhar, Rohit Gandhi, Shantanu and Nikhil and Neetu Gupta. It was a part of the ‘Luxurion World 2009′ show.
The show took off with Bollywood actor, Geeta Basra sashaying the ramp in an Archana Kochar’s outfit. Geeta Basra looked stunning in a red coloured structured saree adorned with crystals. The show concluded with Bollywood actors Shehnaaz treasurywala, Sonal Sehgal and Hanif Hilal ramp walking in collections by Neeta Lulla.
The theme of the fashion show was ‘Bridal wear’. It showcased a rich collection of some ravishing and colourful sarees, lehengas and sherwanis. Models sashaying down the ramp looked enticing in traditional Indian wear. The lavish attires of the bridal trousseau boasted of intricate work and heavy use of embellishments like crystals and semi-precious stones.
The bridal collection by fashion designer Archana Kochhar received a lot of accolades from the members of the audience.

Walking The Ramp With Saif Was Special: Kareena Kapoor

MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who strutted down the ramp for bridal collection of his friend Manish Malhotra on the current HDIL India Couture Week here with her boyfriend, Saif Ali Khan, says it was a very special show she. 
“I’ve walked the ramp many times in the past for my friend Manish, but this was different and very special because for the first time I was walking with Saif.’s Always a special feeling to be with him,” said Kareena.
Saif added, “Yes, it was fun. We had fun during rehearsals as well.”
While sashaying down the ramp smiling Kareena watched as the audience Saif managed to keep a poker face.
The first row was occupied by a number of Bollywood celebrities who had to push for a place in the area full of entertainment.
Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, Kajol, Imran Khan, Dino Morea, Uday Chopra, Sophie Chaudhary, and Boney Kapoor and Sridevi who came with her daughters, adds glamor quotient.
The collection is called “The Wedding of Doom” and the whole decorated with white curtains that fall from the ceiling like a dream sequence from a Bollywood film.
The background music of Hindi films had Chartbusters and emotional Atayachaar, Twist, Chor Bazzari among others.
The line had an interesting combination of colors like peach, ivory and beige. With minimalist embroidery and a lot of bling, Malhotra’s collection was elegant and sexy at the same time too.
“These days many people in India are having your wedding abroad. Last month I designed for a wedding in Portugal. I want people to know what colors and silhouettes to be used at weddings as” Malhotra said.
The range of all I had a girl can dream – from outside Kurtas Lehenga to shoulder, long jackets for elegant blouse.
