Paris Hilton arrested on cocaine charge

LOS ANGELES: Socialite Paris Hilton was arrested in Las Vegas on Friday night and charged with cocaine possession, celebrity website TMZ reported on Saturday.

Hilton, 29, a former reality TV star, was arrested after a traffic stop by police in which an undisclosed amount of cocaine was allegedly found in her purse, the website said.

Hilton was a passenger in the car; the unidentified driver was charged with driving under the influence.

Hilton was released from jail early on Saturday morning, the website reported.

Hilton, the great-granddaughter of Hilton hotels founder Conrad Hilton, has worked as a model, singer, actress, fashion designer and reality TV star. She runs multimillion-dollar businesses based on her name including clothing lines, fragrances and wine.

She spent three weeks in a Los Angeles jail in 2007 for violating her probation

Florida star defensive end Carlos Dunlap was arrested and charged with drunken driving early Tuesday morning in Gainesville. Dunlap is a projected first-round NFL draft pick and is currently the Gators’ sack leader on defense.

According to  reports suggest Carlos Dunlap was found passed out behind the wheel of his car at a Gainesville intersection, failed field sobriety tests once awakened, and refused a breathalyzer. Carlos Dunlap was later released on his own recognizance.

One figures Dunlap will certainly be suspended for Saturday’s SEC title game in Atlanta, especially after the heat Florida coach Urban Meyer received in the offseason over numerous disciplinary issues concerning his players.

A DUI is a very serious offense, but Dunlap’s decision to be out drinking in the middle of the night only a few days before the season’s biggest game will certainly be questioned by team officials, fans and NFL scouts.
