Pak-US strategic talks ruled out
The US government sources told News Trends that there was no possibility of the talks till the US government is satisfied that Pakistan has adopted measures in this regard.
The sources further disclosed that the issues including defence, regional peace, nuclear non-proliferation and eradication of terrorism would be on the top agenda of the talks while issues like economic stability, trade, energy, science and technology, education, agriculture, health and interaction with the masses will be included in the agenda only to enhance the range of the dialogue .
The sources added that the whole process was affecting due to the differences between both the countries on issues like defence and eradication of terrorism.
The issue also came under discussion during US special envoy Mark Grossman’s recent visit to Pakistan but no breakthrough came to the fore regarding strategic dialogue.
However, the sources ascertained that the USA was not pondering to end ties with Pakistan.
Muhammad Amir to play cricket in Londons parks
Amir would be playing cricket in the parks of London.
Talking to News Trends, he said that he was not banned to play cricket with his fans and he would continue playing cricket.
According to Amir, he was hopeful of reduction in his sentence. The fast bowler said that he was delivering bowling tips to many people and all including children were happy about his cricket style.
Amir said he intended to set up a cricket academy in future if he received clearance.
Pakistani held in US deny charges

Pakistan born Imam and his son held in the US appeared before the court in Miami where they were indicted. Four charges were framed against 6 defendants. Khurram Waheed, the attorney for Sher Ali said while talking to the News Trends that charges were read out but no proof has been given.
Hafiz Sher Ali is prayer leader in a Miami mosque and his two sons have the US citizenship. The rest of the accused include Sher Ali’s daughter Amna and grandson Alam Zeb.
Executive Director of American Islamic Relations Council Nazar Hamza says the arrests have given rise to many apprehensions. The court adjourned the proceedings till May 23. The bail application of the accused will be considered in the next hearing.
Fazl gets a narrow escape in Swabi bombing

At least seven people were killed and several others were injured in a bomb explosion near the reception rally of Maulana Fazlur Rahman in Anbar area of Swabi on Wednesday.
According to News Trends, the bomb exploded moments after the convoy of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Ameer, Fazlur Rahman, passed through the area.
The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off area after the incident and the rescue workers started the rescue operations. The injured were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.

Suggestion to reduce salaries of government officials rejected
Talking to trendpk.com in Islamabad, Pervez Rashid said that PML-N has suggested to reduce the expenses of Prime Minister House, Federal Ministers and Members of Parliament. On this occasion, Ishaq Dar said that if 25% reduction in salries of government officials is done, then almost 1 to 1.5 billion rupees per month will be saved but it will add problems to thousands of families; therefore this suggestion has been rejected.
N.Waziristan: Troop killed in Afghan mortar shells attack

A security personnel got killed while three others injured when fired from Afghanistan hit a military checkpost in North Waziristan, trendpk.com reported on Wednesday.
Sources said that as many as ten mortar shells fired from the Afghan side hit Bange-i-Dar checkpost in Ghulam Khan town in North Waziristan tribal district.As a result, four security men got injured of whom one succumbed to his injuries later. The wounded have been shifted to CMH located at Bannu.
The attack was ensued by an exchange of fire between Pakistan and Afghan forces, which is still continued.
Quetta: Miscreants blew up gas pipeline

Gas supply to several areas has been suspended when some unidentified miscreants blew up a gas pipeline in Quetta, trendpk.com reported on Thursday.
Sources said that the explosive material was planted at the roadside near western bypass, which was later detonated. As a result, the pipeline got damaged suspending the supply to the nearby areas including Mastung and Qalat.
Heavy contingents of police rushed the site, however the repair work was yet to be started.
North Waziristan: Twin drone strikes claim 18 militants
At least 18 militants are said to have been killed in twin drone attacks in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, trendpk.com reported on Monday.
According to official sources, the first attack by US unmanned aircraft took place near Mir Ali town at about 9:00am in Shair Tala, 15 kms away from Mir Ali.Four missiles were fired at a car suspected to be that of the militants. Resultantly, 6 militants got killed. However, the identity of those killed could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
Meanwhile, in a second drone strike 18 miscreants got killed. It is pertinent to mention that this year as many as 115 drone strikes have been recorded in the north-western tribal belt of Pakistan.
Bajaur Agency: Suicide blast kills 44, injures 72
At least 44 people were killed and 72 injured in a blast in Khar, district headquarters of Bajaur Agency in FATA, trendpk.com reported on Saturday.
According to details, the blast occurred in front of a Civil colony at a check point and World Food Programme building was also near the blast place. A woman suicide bomber reached at the point and blew herself up, due to which 44 people were killed and several others sustained severe injuries. The attack took place when more than 300 people were gathered outside World Food Programme building to receive food rations. Security forces and police reached the spot and cordoned off the area and started search operation. Rescue teams were also reached the blast place and started relief activities. The injured are being shifted to hospital where emergency was declared and paramedics staff was called.
