Lady Gaga, Katy Perry lead MTV Europe nominations

LONDON: Lady Gaga and Katy Perry go head-to-head at the MTV Europe Music Awards in November, with five nominations apiece.
The U.S. pop princesses are both shortlisted in four categories — best pop act, best song, best female act and best video. Completing the nominations for Lady Gaga is best live act and for Katy Perry “best world stage performance”.
Elsewhere in the nominations list, rapper Eminem has four nominations including best song, best male act, best hip hop and best video for his Rihanna collaboration “Love the Way You Lie”.
British stadium rockers Muse, along with Thirty Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park and Kings of Leon, find themselves up against “Prince of Darkness” Ozzy Osbourne in the best rock category.
Pop phenomenon Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, B.o.B, Plan B and Jason Derulo are nominated for best new act.

With 13 nominations, there was no Lady Gaga and return to their homes empty-handed in on Sunday night (Sept. 12) MTV Video Music Awards. When the pop icon of international fashion / stepped up to accept the award for the sixth night, those video of the year, did not do what they always do: cut a piece of the Legion of her fans by teasing the name of her new album.

eminem recovery leak

Eminem’s new album “Recovery” is not due to hit stores for another two weeks yet, but that hasn’t stopped it from somehow being leaked onto the Internet. “Recovery” is said to be a follow-up to the rapper’s “Relapse” album, which only came out in 2009.
As reported by Ryan Christopher DeVault at associatedcontent.com, the first single from the new album, “Not Afraid,” has already been released with a video. And it apparently shows that Eminem has made a return to the music that did well for him before “Relapse.”
While many fans may have enjoyed his “Relapse” album, it didn’t quite garner the same acceptance as some of his previous albums. It actually seems impossible nowadays, for a rap album to make it to its scheduled release date without being leaked onto the Internet.
And it looks like there’s some pretty good artists featured on Eminem’s new album as well. For example, Pink is featured on the song “Won’t Back Down,” while Rihanna is featured on the “Love You the Way You Lie” track. View the track list via the link above.it seems almost impossible for a rap album to make it to release date without getting leaked to the internet now, and that removes any surprise that it has now happened to Eminem as well. We haven’t heard all of the tracks yet, but from what we can tell, there are some nice artists on this album. We are particularly excited to hear how Eminem and Pink worked together on their song ‘Won’t Back Down’, and if’Love You the Way You Lie’ with Rihanna ends up being as great as some of the other collaborations that she has done recently. We won’t be linking to any of the sites claiming to have the leaked copy of Eminem’s Recovery, and we also feel compelled to suggest purchasing it to support the artist.

He attempted to get $250,000 from Natalee Holloway’s mother in exchange for details of her daughter’s death and the location of the Natalee’s body.
Joran van der Sloot confessed to killing Stephany Flores in Peru. The 22-year-old Dutch man made the confession during an interrogation by Peruvian police on Tuesday, June 8th.

Van der Sloot told guard that Stephany Flores looked into files on his machine and realized he was engaged in the departure of Natalee Holloway in Island. Van der Sloot claims he snapped and murdered Flores as a lead of her insight.

Warm-up match stampede a wake-up call at World Cup
JOHANNESBURG — No one was killed. Most of the injuries were minor. Yet a stampede at a supposedly low-key warm-up match set off alarms for World Cup organizers as they reassessed their plans for keeping fervent sellout crowds under control.
Hopes for a safe tournament remain high, officials said Monday. But the scary incident at a Nigeria-North Korea exhibition match was a stark reminder of past stadium disasters, in Africa and elsewhere, that have been one of soccer’s recurring and deadly legacies.
“This is like an alarm clock,” FIFA president Sepp Blatter said. “This will not happen in any match of the World Cup — you can be assured.”
FIFA stressed that it played no role in arranging Sunday’s match at a small stadium in Tembisa, a black township near Johannesburg. Crowds seeking some of the 10,000 free tickets on offer twice charged the gates; a policeman was seriously hurt and 15 fans also were injured.
“Please be sure that the level of organization we have at the World Cup is definitely higher than the one we have seen there,” FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke said. “We have to make sure that the police working around the World Cup stadiums will do better than what we have seen yesterday.”
One big difference between Sunday’s match and the World Cup games: Tickets for the tournament have been sold in advance, and non-ticketholders likely will be blocked from getting anywhere near the entry gates of the stadiums. Most — but not all — of the World Cup games are sellouts.
Traffic jams are likely en route to the venues, especially if South African fans live up to their penchant for just-before-kickoff arrivals, but FIFA believes its logistical plans — including large numbers of entry gates — will minimize crushes at the stadiums themselves.
Valcke said the problems in Tembisa reflected a failure to employ FIFA’s ticketing policies.
“It proves we are right to say that you should never distribute tickets at the stadium on a match day,” he said. “We will keep this principle during the World Cup.”
pretty little liars

“Pretty Little Liars” is one of the hottest shows on TV this summer. Star Troian Bellisario, who plays smartie Spencer Hastings, dishes on the comparisons between “Liars” and “Gossip Girl” and also how addictive the book series is for her.
“I think on ‘Gossip Girl’ they do a really great job of showing how hard ti is to keep your friends around and be true to who you are, especially in a world like that,” Troian tells Zap2it. “But for the girls in Rosewood, it’s a little more smalltown Americana.”
“However, we’re dealing with all of the universal issues of growing up,” she continues. “Figuring out who you are and what you want to be in the world and does that mesh with what your parents want you to be and how do you stay true to yourself.”
So has she read the books, like her co-star Shay Mitchell?
“They’re quite addicting. I actually had to put them down because I was finding it was really, really distracting to get so far ahead of what I was playing on show,” laughs Troian. “It’s also really hard because they know so many things that I don’t know. But I’ve just given in and now I’m reading the last few.”
How does she think the show stacks up against the books?
“They’re very true, especially to Sara Shepard’s idea of where she wants to go with the characters and what she wants to unfold. The writers on ‘Pretty Little Liars’ have been very true to her image of Rosewood.”
Shay Mitchell: “My character is Emily Fields and she is, I guess you could say the good girl out of the group, the sweet one and extremely sensitive to this whole disappearance of somebody who she might have been developing some feelings for. She’s discovering her self identity and her sexuality along with everything else that happens when you’re growing up. So that’s a little bit about Emily.”

Eminem and Rhianna team up for a new track off Em’s upcoming Recovery album. This one’s called “Love the Way You Lie” and has a pop-rock style guitar strumming behind the rapper as he raps with intensity. Rhianna provides a catchy chorus which details how she absorbs the pain, because of love. Hmmm, a bit of a Chris Brown reference? Possibly.
Comparing this to the other guest track Em has featuring Pink, I’d go with this one. The Pink track may grow on me, but just seems out of place for an Eminem album. This track with Rhinna is more his style, although still sounding like it was prepared for radioplay.

Brittany Murphy Died from Pneumonia, Drugs

LOS ANGELES: Actress Brittany Murphy’s death in December was accidental and the result of pneumonia, anemia and “multiple drug intoxication,” the
Los Angeles Coroner’s office said on Thursday.
Murphy, 32, the co-star of movies “Clueless” and “8 Mile” suffered a cardiac arrest on Dec. 20 in the bathroom of her Hollywood Hills home.
The coroner’s office said the drugs found in Murphy’s body were a mixture of prescription and over-the-counter medications. No illegal drugs were found.
The preliminary report ruled her death an accident, caused by drug intake. It said she had pneumonia and suffered from anemia caused by an iron deficiency. The full autopsy report will be issued in about two weeks time.
Murphy’s husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, said at the time that the actress had been suffering from laryngitis. Initial media speculation had focused on a possible eating disorder and rumors of cocaine use — both of which she had denied several years ago.
Photographs of Murphy’s last red carpet appearance in early December showed the actress in a sleeveless dress with rail-thin arms and legs.
In her career, Murphy starred in films like “Girl Interrupted” and “8 Mile” and worked with actors such as Michael Douglas, Ashton Kutcher, Eminem and Angelina Jolie.
But in more recent years, she worked mostly in low-budget movies.

Is Eminem Dead , It’s hard to say why people continue to search for information on Eminem dying. There’s now a widespread search for Eminem died 2010, to find information about the rapper’s rumored death. It may have started as a rumor on the popular social networking site Twitter, where several other fake celebrity deaths have been discussed. Eminem is still on top of his rap game, with the recent release of his new Relapse: Refill album. The rap star is still alive and kicking, despite people’s attempts to release fake news of his death. In 2009, fake news reports were unveiled that Em was in a car accident which cost him his life. Those continue to be untrue reports.
One of Eminem’s co-stars, actress Brittany Murphy was discovered dead several weeks ago at a very young age. Eminem and Brittany Murphy were an on-screen couple in the popular movie “8 Mile” which chronicled Eminem’s rise to fame through rap battles. Grammy Nominations 2010, Nominations for the 2010 Grammy Awards announced Wednesday night in Los Angeles.
Beyonce Knowles led the nominations with 10 nominations for his third solo album, “I Am … Sasha Fierce.” Country-singer Taylor Swift came in second with eight nominations, while Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West Maxwell and each received six nominations.
