TrendPK.com: Kristin Cavallari is set to marry football player Jay Cutler, but first it seems she wants to focus on having her first child with him.

While the two are engaged once again, it sounds like Cavallari will be putting off the wedding until after the birth of their first child, states Hollyscoop. “I’m not even looking for a wedding dress right now. I’m pregnant! I’m not going to go try on wedding dresses,” Cavallari recently commented.

Hopefully, the engagement isn’t broken again before the two manage to walk down the aisle.

Do you think these two will last?

Amir Khan celebrates engagement to Fayal

The ceremony was held at the weekend with a £150,000 bash at the Rebook Stadium in his hometown of Bolton.

Amir presented his fiancée with a stunning three diamond ring, believed to have cost £100,000, during the special ceremony, with the New York born beauty presenting her husband-to-be with an equally impressive platinum band.

25-year-old Amir announced his plans to marry 20-year-old Faryal earlier this month, with the couple officially marking their engagement with a lavish celebration over the weekend. 1,000 guests joined the couple to celebrate their happy news, amongst them were many famous faces from the world of sport including Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Ricky Hatton.

Faryal flew over from New York especially for the engagement party, with her family also travelling with her. The student will spend the next week with her fiancé in Bolton as he plans to show Faryal around what will become her new home as the couple have decided to start married life in the north of England.

The newly engaged couple were given a BMW 750 Li as an engagement present from the bride-to-be’s parents who have reportedly taken to the lightweight boxer in a big way, with student Faryal saying her family already treat Amir like a son.

For Amir and his new fiancée Faryal, their romance got off to quite a rocky start as the bride-to-be revealed she had difficulty understanding Amir’s strong northern accent and vocabulary, with the boxer using unfamiliar words such as “daft” and “innit”, when they first started dating.

However the pair managed to overcome early stumbling blocks and are now looking forward to their wedding which is likely to take place at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, the same venue which hosted their engagement party.

Never permitted drone attacks in Pakistan: Gilani

January 28, 2012 by

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Saturday there was “a trust deficit” between Islamabad and Washington as he criticised the resumption of US drone strikes on his country s tribal belt.

Speaking the day after over 100,000 people massed in Karachi to protest the strikes, Yousuf Raza Gilani said they only served to bolster militants.

“Drones are counter-productive. We have very ably isolated militants from the local tribes. When there are drone attacks that creates sympathy for them again,” Gilani told reporters at the Davos forum.

“It makes the job of the political leadership and the military very difficult. We have never allowed the drone attacks and we have always maintained that they are unacceptable, illegal and counterproductive.”

Relations between the United States and Pakistan have deteriorated sharply over the last year, with Islamabad furious about the surprise deadly raid on Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden s hideout in Abbottabad last year.

The two sides have also been at loggerheads over a US air strike in November in which 24 Pakistani soldiers were killed.

The US halted drone strikes on Pakistan soil in the immediate aftermath of that strike but they have since resumed.

US officials say the northwestern tribal belt provides sanctuary to Taliban fighting in Afghanistan, Al-Qaeda groups plotting attacks on the West, Pakistani Taliban who routinely bomb Pakistan and other foreign fighters.

In public, Pakistani leaders always insist they are against drone strikes, which are deeply unpopular in the country, but US officials insist that they privately cooperate with the programme.

Gilani said that Pakistan now wanted to agree new rules of engagement with the United States.

“The unilateral action taken in Abbottabad, that was not liked in any quarter … We need assurances that such a unilateral action will not be repeated in the future. There is a trust deficit.”

The prime minister said it was in both countries  interests to cooperate as partners and Pakistan had paid a high price at the hands of militant groups.

“We want to work together and we are fighting against militants and terrorists. We have paid a huge price for that.”

Insurgents largely based in the tribal border lands have carried out bomb and gun attacks killing nearly 4,800 people across Pakistan since July 2007.

Pakistan has battled a homegrown insurgency for years, with more than 3,000 soldiers killed in the battle against militancy.

Heidi Klum was spotted wearing a ring that appeared to be either her wedding band or her engagement diamond turned around so the stone wasn’t showing, states TMZ. The yellow diamond band was spotted on her wedding ring finger while she was out in Los Angeles.

Seal has commented that he is wearing his because he still has a connection with Klum even though they are separated. It’s unknown why she may still be wearing her own.

The hit comedy CBS series ‘Two and a Half Men’ is currently on hold. Charlie Sheen, one of the main stars of the show, is proving that his off screen life is not far from his character on the show. ‘Two and a Half Men’ is now on production hiatus, whilst Charlie Sheen is in rehab. Production of the show was halted last February for the same reasons.

“He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern,” his rep said in a statement. “Mr. Sheen asks that his privacy be respected at this time and that no additional informational will be provided.”

Variety has reported that 16 out of 24 episodes of the latest season have already been shot. But CBS have rushed out and replaced “Men’s” time slot by ordering more episodes of other shows, such as ‘Rules of Engagement’.

The United States needs to be realistic about its efforts to engage Iran, whose regime is lying about its nuclear programme and is on a path to build nuclear warheads for missiles, the top US military officer said.

Taliban attack on Afghan post repelled, 30 killed

International forces in Afghanistan Saturday fought off a Taliban attack on a combat post in a remote and mountainous region bordering Pakistan, killing more than 30 insurgents, NATO said.
Insurgents attacked the post from all directions using rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and small arms fire, NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement. Five ISAF soldiers were injured, it said.
The incident took place at 1.30 am Saturday (2200 GMT Friday) in Bermal district in Paktika province, which borders Pakistan’s lawless North Waziristan tribal region.
The coalition forces called for air weapons team and close-air support during the engagement. A coalition aircraft engaged an insurgent firing position with three precision-guided munitions, it said. The air weapons team also engaged a large number of insurgents near the outpost, it said, adding: Initial operational reporting indicates more than 30 insurgents were killed in the failed attack on the outpost.
The five wounded soldiers continued fighting, it said. None were killed. The proximity of the combat post to the border hints at the possibility the insurgents had crossed from Pakistan, where the Taliban’s leadership council is believed to be based. The insurgency in Afghanistan is now in its 10th year since the Taliban’s regime was overthrown in the US-led invasion in late 2001.
Remote border regions have proven particularly volatile in recent years. NATO said Saturday that two of its soldiers died in separate attacks in the volatile south of Afghanistan, where the insurgency is concentrated. One died in an insurgent attack on Friday, the other in a similar incident on Saturday. The nationalities of the soldiers were not revealed, according to policy. The total number of foreign soldiers died in the war this year reached at 609, as compared to 521 for 2009. NATO and the United States have more than 150,000 troops in Afghanistan, many of them deployed to the southern provinces of Kandahar and Helmand in a major counter-insurgency push.

The COAS said in a statement that he has ordered setting up of a board of inquiry to establish the true identity of uniformed personnel and the veracity of the video footage.

‘The board will be headed by a Major General, a two star officer of Pakistan Army. He will be assisted by two / three senior officers with the experience of investigating into such incidents. Necessary technical expertise will be made available to the board’, the statement said.

General Kayani referred back to his Command Directive on the issues of Human Rights and Extra Judicial Killings, and stated that such violations of his orders, if true, will not be tolerated.

He categorically stated that it is not expected of a professional army to engage in excesses against the people whom it is trying to guard against the scourge of terrorism.

Expressing his determination to take strictest possible disciplinary action against the perpetrators, if identified to be soldiers of Pakistan Army, he termed the incident as unacceptable under any circumstances. He emphasized that Rules of Engagement (ROE) are sacrosanct.

He, however, cautioned against reaching hasty conclusions about involvement of Pakistan Army soldiers. He pointed out that in order to hide their identities, cause confusion and malign Pakistan Army; terrorists have previously been disguising themselves as Pakistan Army soldiers during a number of attacks including the one on GHQ.

General Kayani also directed commanders at all levels to be vigilant and follow the Army policy of zero tolerance in such cases in true letter and spirit.
