3 martyred in Suleman Khel mosque blast

PESHAWAR: Three people martyred and seven others injured as blast occurred in a mosque in Suleman Khel area of Badaber near Peshawar.

Security forces have cordoned off the area.

Rescue work has been started.

Sources told the explosion took place during Isha prayers.

Bodies and injured have been shifted to Peshawar’s hospitals.

It is the second blast today and both occurred in mosques. First suicide blast took place in Dara Adam Khel where 66 people including children martyred and more than 70 others wounded.

8 martyred in Pak Patan explosion

PAK PATAN: At least eight people have been martyred and 14 others wounded as explosion took place at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fareed on Monday morning.

The blast occurred immediately after Fajr prayer. The authorities closed the shrine for visitors soon after the explosion.

Four women were also included among those victims who lost their lives. One wall of shrine destroyed in the explosion.

According to the initial reports, two men left a motorcycle at the back door of the shrine and the explosion took place after six to seven minutes of their departure from the spot.

Eyewitnesses have informed that both of the suspected men were of 28 to 30 years old.

Several people were present on the scene when deadly explosion occurred in the shrine. SAMAA

Cylinder explosion kills one in Karak

KARAK: At least one person has been killed and four others wounded when an explosion took place in a shop, SAMAA reported Monday.

According to police, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder blast in a puncture shop situated in village Mandha Wah.

The local people turned frightened and harassed as explosion was so powerful.

The dead body of the one deceased victim and four other Injured have been shifted to the district hospital of Karak. SAMAA

India: land-mine explosion kills 6 police personnel

A land-mine explosion has killed at least 6 police personnel in the Indian state of Bihar, leaving many others injured.
According to the Police officials the explosion was planned by Mao rebels. The explosion took place at a time when a patrolling police party was coming back from a routine patrolling from the Shiyampur Police station.
The police cordoned off the area after the explosion and started a search operation.

Bank robbed in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Five armed men robbed a private bank located in Latifabad on Thursday morning.

Sources told SAMAA that robbers looted Rs. 30.8 million, injuring one guard and a policeman. The armed men managed an easy escape.

Police cordoned off the area soon after the robbery. Investigations have begun.

SAMAA learnt that proper security arrangements have not been made, despite the frequent robberies in the area. SAMAA

KURRAM AGENCY: Ten people have been killed, and six others wounded when a vehicle collided with a roadside bomb, SAMAA learnt Thursday.

Official sources told SAMAA that a powerful explosion took place when a passenger vehicle collided with the roadside bomb. The vehicle was completely damaged.

AGENCIES ADD: A roadside bomb killed 10 people and wounded four in Pakistan’s Kurram tribal region on the Afghan border on Thursday, a government official told Reuters.

“It was a remote-controlled bomb, which was detonated as soon as a passenger van got there,” said Hamid Khan, deputy administrator of the region. SAMAA/AGENCIES

Sialkot lynching accused on judicial remand

SIALKOT: Former SHO Rana Ilyas, the main accused of Sialkot’s lynching, including 21 others, have been presented before Gujranwala anti terrorism court, said sources Thursday.

The court has issued a seven-day judicial remand for all 21 accused involved in the brutal killing of two brothers.

On August 15, teenage brothers Hafiz Mugheez and Muneeb, were mercilessly beaten and then hanged by a mob in the presence of police officials and Rescue 1122 personnel in Buttar village on the outskirts of Sialkot. SAMAA

QUETTA: An explosion took place at the house of the Provincial Minister in Railway Housing Society on Thursday.

Three people have been killed and three others injured in the blast.

The blast occurred in the compound of Balochistan Finance Minister Asim Kurd Gilo’s house.

Bodies and injured have been taken to Quetta Civil Hospital.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area. SAMAA
