Famous comedian Liaqat Soldier dies of a heart attack
KARACHI: Famous Pakistani comedian Liaqat Soldier passed away after a sudden heart attack here on Wednesday.
He started his acting career in 1973 and performed in more than 250 television plays.
He participated in TrendPK’s special transmission of the World Cup semifinal and left for his final abode on the very same day.
Punjab’s CNG crises deepens as stations closed for two days

LAHORE: The CNG crises of Punjab have deepened further as many stations in the region have been closed according to the new schedule of gas load shedding.
According to Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) officials, following a new gas management plan, more than 1,000 CNG stations of Lahore, Gujranwala and Multan were closed at 6:00am on Tuesday morning.
After completing two days of closure, all these CNG stations will resume gas supply from Thursday morning at 6:00am.
The CNG stations of Faisalabad will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, while stations in Islamabad and Bahawalpur will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
People of the concerned regions have expressed deep worry over the CNG stations closure decision, while officials of the CNG Association of Pakistan have threatened to go on an indefinite strike if the government
Cabinet meeting postponed; one day national mourning
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet on Wednesday expressed shock and deep sorrow over the tragic air crash on Margalla hills and announced a day of national mourning. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, at its regular weekly meeting expressed shock over the crash and offered fateha for the passengers killed in the incident.

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani expressed deep sorrow over plane crash in Islamabad and ordered immediate relief for the victims. Both the leaders directed the concerned authorities to provide full medical facilities to injured and urged coordinated rescue activities.
Awan takes aerial view of crash site
ISLAMABAD: Federal Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Baber Awan took the aerial view of the crash site and reviewed rescue operations.
Talking to media at this occasion, Awan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and directed the high officials of district administration to submit initial report about the incident.
Army Chief grieved over Tirah killings
RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani extended apology to Kokikhel tribes on the killings of citizens in Pak Army’s action on April 10, Geo News reported Saturday.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief expressed deep grief over the killings of citizens belonging to Kokikhel tribes.
Also, he directed to take up measures to avoid such incidents in future.
It should be mentioned that at least 63 people were killed in an action by Pak Army in Tirah Valley on April 10.
