Sarah Jane Dias shoots for Pepsi commercial with Ranbir Kapoor
She’s playing a good game ever as she is set to make her debut with Abhishek Bachchan starrer Game, and even before her first film is out in the theatres worldwide, she has already shot with her second co-star Ranbir Kapoor.
You heard! Sara Jane Dias tells me, “I just shot a commercial with Ranbir Kapoor a few days ago for Pepsi and he again, like Abhishek Bachchan, is so down to earth and a great guy.”
Yes, she has shot a commercial with Ranbir Kapoor but that ain’t a bad start either. I mean, to be paired opposite India’s best and current heart-throb is an achievement for a newcomer like Sara.
She further adds, “Despite the fact that he is from a filmy royalty, he is really well read and well spoken. He knows how to hold a conversation and it’s nice to be able to meet people like Ranbir Kapoor because it’s only when you meet such people you come to know that they are normal.”
So impressed with Ranbir’s professionalism, she said, “He is a thorough professional. He comes on the sets, does his work and then leaves the moment the shoot is over. No more time to loiter around.”
She ends the talk but not before confessing her favourite Ranbir Kapoor film. “I loved him in Raajneeti and Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani.”

Paresh Rawal does voiceover for Bhandarkar’s film, free of cost
The multi-talented Paresh Rawal has provided only his voice to Madhur Bhandarkar’s Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji.
Says Madhur, “I suddenly realized I needed someone to play the sutradhar, to bring the characters and story together. And I wanted a voiceover that is new to the audiences’ ears. I thought of Pareshji. Ironically, we have worked only once together as director and actor in Aan, a film that I am not too proud of.”
Paresh’s voice is a last-minute addition to Dil To Baccha Hai Ji. It was felt that the characters and their motivations needed some amount of explanation. Madhur rushed to Paresh who sportingly agreed.
Says the actor, “We all need to do these things once in a while. When Madhur asked me I readily agreed. He is not only a fine filmmaker but a good human being as well.”
Like his peer and illustrious senior Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal has seriously cut down on the quantity of his work, to concentrate on theatre in 2011.
Says Paresh, “I’m not very happy with the quality of roles being offered to me. So I am focusing on theatre. I am doing a satire on insurance companies called ‘Kishen Aur Kanhaiya’. As far as films are concerned I’ve only one release this year, Anees Bazmee’s Ready.”
Paresh is disillusioned by the way his more meritorious films are being marketed these days. “I did a really good film Road To Sangam last year. The producer was new and my efforts went to waste. I am now looking at good work in commercial films. I am on the verge of signing two films with one of my favourite directors Priyadarshan.”

Shilpa Shetty is someone, who after having started her film career at the age of 18 with the SRK in Baazigar, has indeed come a long way.
After her international claim to fame, courtesy Big Brother, Shilpa has been the favourite in the world of brand endorsements. Bollywood Hungama’s sources have confirmed that Shilpa Shetty has now been chosen as the brand ambassador of Dabur Honey.

West imposes sanctions on Pakistan after using it: Taseer
Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said that whenever Europe and US need Pakistan, it becomes their favourite and as soon as their motive as achieved, all the sanctions are then imposed on Pakistan.
Addressing a ceremony of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, Governor said that Federal Government must complete its tenure of five years. He said that Pakistani nation has proved by fighting against the terrorism, earthquake and flood. Governor also told that only 15% of international aid has been so far utilised for flood victims; where as Pakistani nation has used its own resources to rehabilitate 90% of flood victims. He also said that Pakistan badly needs to build dams such as Kalabagh Dam in order to fkourish the industries running in Pakistan.
Akshay Kumar will turn DJ tonight at Mumbai night club
It’s finally happening on Saturday Night (October 9). The retro-music-and-dance night at a suburban retro club where Akshay Kumar would be deejay and play all his favourite songs from the 1970s as part of the promotional campaign for Action Replayy.
The retro Saturday night would be sadly incomplete without Akshay’s leading lady Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya has gone to the Pusan Film Festival, leaving Akshay to his own musical devices on Saturday night.
Vipul explains his leading lady’s absence on this important night. “The retro-music night was to happen on September 30. But that turned out to be the date for the verdict on Ayodhya. When now Aishwarya has committed her time for such an important international festival I can’t expect her to set aside her plans. And she has promised she would try to fly back to Mumbai for the evening and then return to Pusan.”
Akshay, however, is reconciled to his solitary star appearance as a deejay for one night. He will now be accompanied by Aditya Roy Kapoor, the VJ turned actor, who plays Akshay and Aishwarya’s son in Action Replayy.
Akshay has already selected his favourite 1970′s songs which he says he is not willing to reveal.
Vipul will say this much about Akshay’s unique role as a deejay on Saturday evening: “A lot of the songs Akshay has selected are from Rajesh Khanna films. So we can expect a lot of R.D. Burman tracks.”
Further probing reveals that Akshay has zeroed in on O Mere Dil Ke Chayan (Mere Jeevan Saathi), Roop Tera Mastana (Aradhana), Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai (Kati Patang) and Yeh Kya Hua (Amar Prem) as his top-of-the-line dance tracks for the evening.
Akshay has been calling up the deejays at two of the most prominent night-places in Mumbai to understand how to conduct himself that evening. Wife Twinkle Khanna would be looking into Akshay’s look and wardrobe for the evening. Akshay will dress in 1970s’ retro style.
Says Akshay, “I don’t think any Indian actor or any actor anywhere has been a deejay at a night spot before. I’m quite excited.”
The doors at the club will be opened to all initially. But closed after the place fills up.
Says Vipul, “After all not too many youngsters would’ve the chance to get Akshay to play deejay while they dance. I suspect after a while there will be a stampede in there.”

Aamir Khan to join Twitter from July 1
The perfectionist Khan is known to be a recluse. However he did start his personal blog and then ventured onto facebook when his film 3 Idiots was up for release, but now we hear that he is all set to join Twitter.
Come July 1, Aamir will be on Twitter with the handle @aamir_khan, this comes post requests by none other than Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who convinced the reclusive Khan to join in. Bachchan who sometime back launched his own blog and even joined twitter is the main reason.
Aamir on the other hand says that with a request from a cinema stalwart like Mr. Bachchan who can in their right mind say no? So gear up as your favourite star Aamir Khan will get even closer to you on Twitter.
Reliance BIG & Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment to produce The Imperfectionists
Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment, under its Creative Partnership with Reliance BIG Entertainment, have acquired the screen rights to Tom Rachman’s novel, The Imperfectionists, which was published this spring by Dial Press.
The Imperfectionists centres on the quirky, maddening, endearing people who write and read an international newspaper based in Rome: from the obituary reporter who will do anything to avoid work, to the young freelancer who is manipulated by an egocentric war correspondent, to the dog-obsessed publisher who seems less interested in his struggling newspaper than in his magnificent basset hound.
Rachman drew from his experience as a former wire service reporter at the Associated Press (AP) office in Rome to set the stage for The Imperfectionists.
Reliance BIG Entertainment, the flagship media and entertainment arm of Indian conglomerate, Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG), first introduced its innovative development/ production financing deal, termed a Creative Partnership, with Plan B Entertainment at the Cannes Film Festival 2008. Commenting on the acquisition, Reliance BIG Entertainment’s Chairman Amit Khanna said, “The Imperfectionists is a compliment to our slate with Plan B Entertainment. It will make a commercial and extremely relevant film which will play well to an international audience.”
This is one of several projects acquired by Plan B under their creative partnership with Reliance. Last year the company announced Dark Void, which is based on Capcom’s acclaimed video game and being developed as a sci-fi action franchise and potential starring vehicle for Pitt.
