5 killed in Karachi firing incident
Five persons including two officials of intelligence agency and one constable of Rangers were killed and four others injured in different incidents of firing in Karachi, trendpk.Com reported on Friday.
According to details, unidentified persons opened fire in Redhi Goth area of Karachi and killed two intelligence agency men named Safeer and Imdad Chandue. While near meteorologist office unidentified persons opened fire and killed a constable of Rangers named Shoukat Feroz. On the other hand, two women got injured by the firing of unidentified persons near Gulistan-e-Johar Rabia City while a 50-year-old person sustained injuries in Garden area.
I Seek Review not Scrapping of Blasphemy Laws, says Taseer
News Trends: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said that he called for review and not annulment of blasphemy laws.
Talking to media after attending Punjab Assembly parliamentary party meeting, Taseer said that he took the mercy petition of death convict in blasphemy case Aasia Bibi to President Zardari and called for review of the said laws. PML-Ns Ayaz Mir demanded its annulment; I just sought amendment or review, the Governor said. On the occasion, President PPP Imtiaz Safdar Warriach denied the news of firing incident at Gujranwala.
Karachi: firing between 2 political factions
A firing incident ahs taken place between 2 political factions in the area of Shah Faisal colony Karachi, trendpk.Com reported on Wednesday.
After the incident fears prevailed in the area and all the commercial places were closed while Rangers and Police cordoned-off the whole area. A political worker was also injured as a result of the incident.

KARACHI: Five people, including a woman, were killed in three separate acts of violence in Karachi on Friday.
According to reports, three people were shot and killed in Jahanabad area of Lyari Town early Friday morning by unidentified assailants. A woman was also among the dead.
Police claimed that the attack was a result of the ongoing tiff between Lyari-based gangs.
Police shifted the dead bodies to Civil Hospital and launched an inquiry.
In another incident, unknown gunmen killed a young man in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. His identity is not yet known.
Another firing incident took place in Liaquatabad, where an unidentified man was gunned down near Sindhi Hotel. Trend Pk

KARACHI, News Trends: The spate of killings continued in Karachi as 18 more persons have been killed in last 24 hours causing tensions in affected localities.
Unknown gunmen shot dead a man near Malir City Graveyard. At least two persons were killed in Landhi and Orangi Town, while a pedestrian Nawab Khaskheli was killed in firing incident in busy Ranchhor Line locality.
Two more persons were killed in Azizabad and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Two dead bodies were found Moti Mahal and Sohrab Goth. They were kidnapped and killed. Two other men were killed in SITE and Hussainabad areas and two gunned down at Akbar Road.
Intense aerial firing has been reported in Lea Market area.
Two injured of firing in Usmanabad were succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
Targeted killing frenzy claim 27
Around 27 people have fallen prey to targeted killing, while 50 others sustained injuries in 24 hours in Karachi, Dunya News reported on Sunday.
The miscreants have also set alight 50 cars.
Police and Rangers have started joint patrolling of the affected areas. Police found two decapitated bodies from Layari and a hand-cuffed body of a man from Kemari.
On Saturday, unidentified persons killed three people in Dhobi Ghaat area of Garden while some unknown gunmen shot dead a person named Zafar dead in Korangi area. Qaiser was killed in firing incident in Qasba Mor. Similarly, unknown persons kileld a person when they opened fire at a shop in Baldia Town. Allah Daad was gunned down at a hotel in Chorangi area. A security guardf was killed in PIDC chowk. Earlier, two handcuffed dead bodies were found in Sadia Market near Nazimabad Inquiry office. Two persons were abducted from Garden area and were later gunned down. A 34-year-old Muhammad Saleem died of bullet injuries when some unknown motorcyclists opened fire on him in the Khamosh Colony area of Nazimabad. A troller cleaner Bakht Ali was also killed by the firing of motorcyclists near Afghan Camp on Super Highway.

BAHAWALPUR: At least two people were killed and four others were injured in a firing incident outside a mosque in Bahawalpur, SAMAA learnt Saturday.
According to sources, people gathered outside a mosque after Fajr prayer in Satellite Town area of Bahwalpur, when a motorcyclist opened fire, killing two people and injuring four.
Rescue officials reached the spot immediately after the incident and shifted the injured to Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur.
Local residents burnt tires in protest and chanted anti-police slogans. SAMAA
3 NATO containers set on fire in Khuzdar

BALOCHISTAN: Three NATO containers were set on fire, while a driver was killed in a firing incident in Khuzdar, SAMAA learnt Saturday.
According to sources, unidentified men sprinkled petrol and set ablaze three tankers, carrying goods for NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan.
The men also shot dead a driver, Nizamuddin, who is said to be a resident of Chaman.
Attacks on NATO supply containers have consistently been carried out in Balochistan for the past ten days. No arrest has been made so far in this regard.
Separately, a complete shutterdown was observed in Khuzdar, Qalat, Surab, Mashke, Awaran and Naal against the killing of a lawyer Ali Sher Kurd.
The Quetta-Karachi National Highway is also blocked. SAMAA
Relatives of LHC judge injured in firing
LAHORE: Son-in-law and daughter of Lahore High Court Justice Munir Ahmed have been injured in a firing incident in Gulberg area of Lahore, Geo News reported Thursday.
Both the injured have been shifted to the nearby hospital.
