Nadal beats Federer to win Madrid Masters
Spain’s Rafael Nadal beat defending champion Roger Federer 6-4, 7-6 in the final of the Madrid Masters 1000 tournament today.
It is Nadal’s third title this season and he becomes the first player ever to win Monte Carlo, Rome and Madrid in the same year. It was the first encounter between the arch rivals since last year’s final in Madrid, which Federer won.
Today’s title also gives Nadal his 18th Masters 1000 title, one more than the previous record holder, Andr Agassi.
In addition Nadal, who has now won 168 of 174 matches on clay since 2005, will return to number two in Monday’s rankings after winning in Monte Carlo and Rome.

Tendulkar first player to make 17000 ODI runs
HYDERABAD DECCAN: India’s master batsman Sachin Tendulkar has achieved the honour of becoming the first player to make 17,000 runs in One-day International cricket.
He reached the coveted milestone in his 435th one-dayer. Besides making the most runs in one-day internationals, Tendulkar also holds several other world records in cricket.
He is the highest run-getter in Test cricket also by scoring 12,773 runs in 159 Test matches.
Tendulkar holds the records of making the most centuries in both Test and ODI cricket. He made 42 Test and 44 ODI hundreds. He has also made the highest number of one-day international appearances. Watch Live Cricket
