Faisalabad: Dacoits loot Rs 57 lakhs from bank
Dacoits looted Rs 57 lakhs from a bank in Satiyana area of Faisalabad on Friday. trendpk.com has received CCTV footage of the incident.
Five dacoits entered into a private bank situated in Satiyana Bangla and held hostage the staff of the bank. They confiscated arms from security guard Nasir and police constable Abdul Khaliq. The dacoits looted money from cash locker and cash counter and fled the scene.
Karachi police foil terror plot to bomb Ashura processions
Karachi police has foiled a terror plot to bomb 9-10 Muharram processions in Karachi and arrested a militant Imamuddin alias Muawia. The culprit wanted to bomb the procession with explosive laden vehicle. The culprit was also the mastermind of attack on the bus of French engineers outside Sheraton Hotel Karachi.
SSP-SIU Raja Umar Khatab told a news conference that the militant has been arrested from Ayyub Ghot area of Suhrab Ghot while his three companions fled the scene. Arms, suicide jackets, explosive material, pistols and bullets were recovered from the possession of the culprit.
Governor Balochistan escapes remote control bomb blast
An attempt to bomb Governor Balochistan has been foiled. A remote control bomb planted under a NATO container at Mangochar National Highway exploded just after before reaching the convoy of Governor Balochistan.
This terror plot was thwarted at the time when Governor Balochistan Nawaz Zulfikar Magsi was going to Quetta from Qalat after condolence with Member Balochistan Assembly Agha Irfan Kareem over demise of his mother. When the Governor reached Mangochar, bomb planted under a NATO container blasted at the highway, but he survived the blast.
According to reports, some unidentified persons opened fire at Levies vehicle deployed at the rout of Balochistan Governor. The vehicle was damaged but the attackers fled the scene. Levies seized their vehicle and started investigation.
Speedy bus kills boy in Faisalabad
A speedy bus crushed a student, killing him in Faisalabad on Wednesday. After the incident, angry people set the bus ablaze.
According to police, 17-year-old Zeeshan was crossing the road when bus collided with him. Rescue 1122 shifted in Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Bus driver and other staff fled the scene. After the incident, angry students set the bus on fire.
Karachi violence intensifies, 11 more killed amid red alert
At least 11 people have been killed and several others got injured in the firing of unidentified persons in Sher Shah Kabari Market, Karachi, on Tuesday and the death toll in the firing and targeted killings incidents have reached to 58.
The armed attackers entered Sher Shah Kabari Market and opened indiscriminate firing, killing at least 10 people. Afterwards, they successfully fled the scene amid high alert security at the entry and exit points of the market.
Unidentified miscreants set afire a bus at Karimabad, while Asif was gunned down at Malir Dadu Goth in firing by some unknown felons. Tortured bodies of a man and woman were found from Manghu Pir, whereas some bodies were also recovered from Gulshan Iqbal, Moti Mahal and Awami Colony. Two dead bodies of youths, who were kidnapped earlier and later shot dead, were found from Eid Gah locality on Monday night, police said. Another dead body, having marks of brutal torture, was found near Moti Mahal in Gulshan-e-Iqbal locality.Two more persons, including a security guard, were gunned down in Liaquatabad town. Four unidentified men were shot and killed in Site Area, Baldia Town, Methadar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas.
Heavy police and rangers contingents are in positioned in the affected areas.
Meanwhile, police and rangers have claimed arresting more than 80 suspected miscreants who were allegedly involved in target killings, rampaging, torching vehicles, and triggering riots in city.
27 NATO oil tankers torched
Gunmen attacked more than two dozen trucks and tankers carrying supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan.
According to police, the incident took place in Shikarpur district of the southern province of Sindh and was confirmed by another top administrative official. Around 20 attackers armed with rocket launchers and assault rifles attacked these trucks. They set ablaze 27 trucks parked there. The fire engulfed the cars parked near a hotel and two persons were injured in the incident. Other people in the hotel fled the scene to save their lives.
DPO Abdul Hameed Khosa said the vehicles were parked at a terminal on the edge of Shikarpur town in Sindh province when the attackers opened fire, forcing drivers and others to flee, before setting the fires.He said that the area has been sealed and search operation has been started. DIG Larkana Din Muhammad Baloch and Rangers Wing Commander Col. Mukhtar have reached the spot.
DCO Shikarpur Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo while talking to Dunya News said that unidentified militants attacked the tankers last night.

Narowal: Farmer tortured by landlord on wage demand
An influential land lord in Narowal tortured a farmer and his family when he demanded for his wage.
According to details, the incident was reported in the precincts of Shah Graib Police Station. The landlord attacked the house of the grower when he demanded for his wage from the son of the landlord, Asif. Following the demand of the wage the landlord, Muhammad Malik attacked the farmer, who fled the scene and took refuge at his house. Later on Muhammad Malik and his associates tortured the entire family including women and children. All the injured were shifted to hospitals.
Police informed that one of the culprits Muhammad Irshad has been arrested.
Karachi: Rs4.4mn robbed from two banks
Dacoits looted Rs4.4 from two private banks of Karachi in a day. According to police, three dacoits with help of security guard of a private bank entered into the premises of bank in Tauheed commercial area of Defence Phase 5 and in the morning they held hostage bank manager Abdul Khaliq Sheikh and other staff. After this, they collected Rs 2.9 million from lockers and fled away. Police have started search of security guard and the dacoits.
Meanwhile, second dacoity occurred in Allied Bank Karim Abad branch situated in Gulberg Town. Here, five armed men held hostage bank staff and took Rs 1.5 million with them and fled the scene. Police have not yet registered any case.
