Disappointment if Pak spot-fixing players aren’t proved guilty: Lorgat

International Cricket Council chief Haroon Lorgat will be disappointed if a tribunal finds the Pakistan players accused of spot-fixing not guilty. Lorgat insists the International Cricket Council will deal firmly with the Pakistan players facing spot-fixing charges should they be found guilty.

Seamers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir and previous Test captain Salman Butt will have their hearings in front of an ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal in January. They are currently suspended due to charges relating to the fourth Test against England in the summer.

Talking to trendpk.Com, former PCB chairman Sheharyar Khan said that Haroon Lorgats statement was very irresponsible and PCB should file protest aagainst it.

Former Test Cricketer Sarfaraz Nawaz said that Haroons should not give such statement before the completuion of inquiry. He said it seems Haroon has made his mind to penalise Pak players. He urged PCB to take action against Logart.

LAHORE: Former Test captain and renowned batsman Mohammad Yousuf said that if Pakistan need him then it should be considered that he never took retirement from international cricket.

He said this while talking with media here on Sunday.

He said that captaincy is no problem for him and he can play under any captain as he wants to serve the country.

David Shepherd, one of cricket’s most genial and best-loved umpires, has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 68 and leaves a long-time partner, Jenny, who he married last year.

David Shepherd took charge of 92 Tests and 172 ODIs, He was a great man and a great friend, said Dickie Bird.
