Swat, FATA students visit China

RAWALPINDI: China Electronic Technology Group (CETC) invited 20 students from war affected areas (Swat and FATA) for an official visit to China.

According to a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Pakistan, the first batch of ten students visited China from August 13-20 2010; the second batch will visit China in September 2010.

The purpose of this visit was to strengthen the friendly bond between the two countries and boost the morale of people, particularly young students

of war affected areas.

Such activities and visits will further strengthen the friendship of the two countries and create opportunities for the youth of war hit areas to witness dividends of progress and stability attained by China. SAMAA

Musharraf Ouster Not Any Deal: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has admitted that some “friendly countries” in played a role in Musharraf’s ouster from the presidency, insisting that their efforts “can not be termed as a deal”, reports ARY NEWS.

“Few of our friendly countries leveled the surface for the restoration of democracy in Pakistan and negotiations were held with Musharraf on transfer of power with their reference. But it can not be termed as a deal,” Malik told ARY NEWS in an interview.

“Pakistan Peoples Party was neither entered in any deal with former President General (r) Pervez Musharraf nor his future was discussed with Saudi King in near past,” he said.

To a query, he said that the inquiry team constituted by the UN Commission probing into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto would also meet with General (r) Musharraf.

Hollywood Star Jennifer Aniston Starts To Yoga For Rest Her Mind

Golden Globe winner Jennifer Aniston (The Good Girl), who usually does yoga for two hours every other day, says that it quiets her mind and leans her out, according to reports.

Forty year old Aniston, who has one of the most desirable bodies in the industry, says that with yoga her legs got leaner, arms got strong, limbs lengthened, posture improved, muscles got toned, and the sweaty workout felt like a therapy session, reports suggest. Aniston, who is fond of Indian and spicy food and who had been chosen as one of People magazine’s Most Beautiful People in the World and whose divorce with Oscar nominated Brad Pitt (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) was finalized in 2005, had reportedly said that yoga helped her to recover from the split.

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has extended invitation to other Hollywood celebrities to explore yoga, referred as “a living fossil”, which he says is both a mental and physical discipline by means of which the human-soul (jivatman) unites with universal-soul (parmatman).

Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, pointed out that some sages had described yoga as the silencing of all mental transformations, which lead to the total realization of the Supreme Self. Some had used yoga attempting to gain liberation by removing all sensory barriers.

According to Patanjali, author of the basic text, the Yoga Sutra, who codified yoga after being founded by Yajanavalkya, yoga was a methodical effort to attain perfection, through the control of the different elements of human nature, physical and psychical, Rajan Zed added.
