Argentina win Group B, South Korea reach last 16
JOHANNESBURG: Two-time champions Argentina sealed top spot in Group B at the World Cup on Tuesday, beating Greece 2-0 while South Korea advanced to the last 16 as runners-up despite a 2-2 draw against Nigeria.
Argentina finally broke down a stubborn Greek defence with late goals from Martin Demechelis and Martin Palermo, finishing on a maximum nine points, compared with four for the Koreans, who endured a see-saw affair in Durban, and three for Greece.
Kalu Uche put Nigeria ahead before Lee Jung-Soo levelled and Park Chu-Young then curled home a free-kick four minutes after the restart.
But Yakubu Ayegbeni levelled from the spot for Nigeria as they took their first and only point of the event.
Argentina will now play Mexico – whom they beat in the last 16 four years ago – and the South Koreans will take on Uruguay for a place in the quarter-finals.

PRESSS RELEASE OF LAW MINISTER RANA SANAULLAH
Lahore, Pakistan:- Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Sana ullah Khan has said that despite passage of one and a half years after the insulting defeat of Q-League in the general elections, Ch. Pervaiz Elahi has not forgotten this defeat and his recent statements against the present regime are reflective of the same defeat. He said that like his unique record of conceding defeat in so many constituencies, it seems that Ch Pervaiz Elahi aspires to have a new record of baseless statements also.
While talking to PML (N) Workers, here today, Rana Sanaullah Khan said that under the dynamic leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the provincial government of PML-N is rightfully a “farmer friendly” government in its real sense. He said that revolutionary measures had been taken by Muslim League government which were aimed at welfare of rural populas, especially that of those cultivators having small land holdings. During the last one and a half years, these welfare oriented measures have resulted in a record increase in the agriculture produce and prosperity of the farmers’ community. He said that the present government by increasing the reserve price of wheat to 940 rupees per 40 kg ensured due return to the farmers of their labour. Rana Sanaullah said that Punjab Chief Minister visited every nook and corner of the province to monitor the procurement centers of wheat and practically ensured relief to the farmers. He said that the Chief Minister has won the hearts of cultivators due to his vibrant way of politics as such an outstanding performance was not even thought of during the past regimes, he added.
Rana Sanaullah said that a regiment of favorite brokers of wheat and other grains was prepared by Chaudhary Brothers when they were enjoying power. This group of hoarders remained engaged in plundering money by exploiting the poor farmers. He said that the effective strategy adopted by the present government regarding procurement of agriculture crops has resulted in discouragement of this powerful group of middlemen. This is a bitter reality which badly irritates Chaudhry Brotherss, the law Minister concluded.
