Sialkot lynching accused on judicial remand

SIALKOT: Former SHO Rana Ilyas, the main accused of Sialkot’s lynching, including 21 others, have been presented before Gujranwala anti terrorism court, said sources Thursday.
The court has issued a seven-day judicial remand for all 21 accused involved in the brutal killing of two brothers.
On August 15, teenage brothers Hafiz Mugheez and Muneeb, were mercilessly beaten and then hanged by a mob in the presence of police officials and Rescue 1122 personnel in Buttar village on the outskirts of Sialkot. SAMAA

ISLAMABAD: The twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are taking out procession rallies on Al-Quds Day. The authorities have beefed up security in both cities, SAMAA reported Friday.
According to details, one rally will be taken out in Islamabad from Shiite Imambargah of G-62, to D Chowk. The Central Secretary General of Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslameen Pakistan (MWMP), Allama Nasir Abbas Jafferi, will lead the rally.
The second rally will be taken out from Aabpara Chowk Islamabad; Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Fika-e-Jaffaria (TNFJ) will lead it.
Another rally of Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Fika-e-Jaffaria will be taken out from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain of Teli Mohala, Rawalpindi; The District Committee of TNFJ will arrange this rally.
Many other small and large rallies are scheduled to be taken out from various areas of the twin

Shahbaz for promotion of modern technology in Agriculture
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Thursday said 100,000 acres land will be distributed among agricultural veterinary graduates under a revolutionary program.
Talking to MPAs from various districts here, Shahbaz Sharif underscored promotion of modern technology for accomplishing agricultural self-sufficiency and that Punjab government is taking concrete steps in this regard.
He asked the assembly members to maintain a close public contact and utilize all their capabilities to resolve people’s problems.
Karachi killings toll rises to 19
KARACHI: The death toll from various incidents of target killings in Karachi has risen to 19 with one more person killed on late Wednesday night, Geo news reported.
However, police and law enforcement agencies seem helpless as tension and fear gripped Karachiites following eruption of riots in Malir on Wednesday evening.
The latest incident of target killing took place in Liyari locality where two more persons, activists of a political party, have been gunned down on late night, taking the tally to 19 in some days.
The worst affected areas of targeted killings incidents and riots included Minghopir, Orangi Town, Pak Colony, Sarjani Town, Gardan and Model Colony where as many as seven people were killed by Thursday morning.
Supreme Court Returns NRO Review Plea
The Supreme Court has returned the NRO review petition after putting objections on it today.
Government has filed a review petition against the apex court’s December 16 decision on National Reconciliation Ordinance, challenging the decision from various aspects. The registrar office of Supreme Court has returned the petition after putting technical objections on it. Advocate on record Raja Abdul Ghafoor has sent the objections to ministry of law.
It stated that court had given the verdict after hearing the petition beyond the points mentioned in the petition and did not hear the government’s point of view on Swiss cases.

4 Militants killed 3 Arrested in Swat
Swat: Four militants were killed and three others arrested in clash with security forces on Sunday.
Militants clashed with the forces during search operation in Nagi Garam area of tehisl Bari Kot in Swat. Four militants were killed while a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during the operation. Three militants were also arrested from various areas of Swat.

With the announcement by the Central Ruet-Hilal Committee, the fear of two Eids in the country has been dismantled. Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman chaired the meeting of the Central Ruet-Hilal Committee in Karachi. Several testimonies of moon sighting from various cities were received. Talking to media after the meeting, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that first Zil-Haj would be on November 19 (tomorrow) and Eid-ul-Azha would be celebrated on November 28. Eid would be celebrated on same day all over the country. The NWFP government has already announced to celebrate Eid on November 28.
