London: Three more accused in killings of Pakistanis arrested

All three accused are 16 to 22 years old. According to Midlands Police, the efforts are on to identify the accused involved in the incident.
The police sources further said that more arrests were expected within next 24 hours for which CCTV footage were being analysed.
On the other hand, a man accused in this case has been released on bail.
The dead bodies of three Pakistanis who were killed in the riots would be handed over to their families after postmortem. The dead bodies are likely to be buried in Birmingham.
PTI’s Islamabad sit-in attracts large gathering
The sit-in has been started before Iftari today (Saturday).
Talking to the participants, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said that the PPP as well as the PML-N were deceiving the masses and the inefficient rulers had led the country to the brink of destruction. He further said that political mafia was behind the Karachi violence and it should be stooped.
He said that presence of people showed that had rejected the present government and they desired such leadership which would pull out them from crisis. He stated that after come in power, he would take every step to end poverty, unemployment and to bring inflation down.
He stressed that the PTI was only a party which could provide relief to the poor. We will bring to justice to corrupt leadership with the help of the nation, he added.
PML-N rules out giving more time too PPP

LAHORE: PML-N leader Sadiq al Farooq has ruled out any possibility of extending its deadline for Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) in Punjab.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he said that his party would make a decision in line with the aspirations of people.
He hoped that PPP would demonstrate good performance as an opposition group according to democratic norms.

Actual number of missing NATO containers higher than reported: FTO

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Dr Suddle said that actual number of missing NATO containers was higher than reported. He further said that some FIA investigation team member wants to misguide the court. He should that all the culprits should be brought to justice.

He revealed that tax collection potential of Pakistan is about Rs.4-5 trillion. “We have come to know that there is a pilferage in the taxation system and resultantly we are only collecting one third of the tax potential”, Dr Suddle said .Highlighting the performance of FTO Secretariat, he said that in the year 2010, the Office of Federal Tax Ombudsman received 1446 individual complaints of which 955 pertained to income tax, 276 to sales tax, 205 to customs and 10 complaints involved the Federal Excise Duty.
Lahore shooting: US demands immediate release of Raymond Davis
United States on Saturday demanded immediate release of its citizen and Raymond Davis, who allegedly killed two people in Lahore three days ago.
The US embassy in Pakistan issued a statement, which stated that Raymond shot at two people in self-defence and thus is being in illegal captivity inside Pakistan.
It further said that Pakistan cannot, in anyway, detain its citizen; Raymonds diplomatic visa would be expired in 2012. However, it grieved the death of two people at the hands of its citizen.
The US embassy also intentionally revealed the news to media.
Why did federal agencies not provide security to governor: Khosa
Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Zulifiqar Khan Khosa said that those who were talking about the custodian killing of Governor, only want to appoint as Governor.
In press release, he said that federal security agencies were also deputed for the governors security and why these agencies failed to rescue the governor. He said that the federal government was not serious to find out the reason of assassination. He further said that the investigation should be made transparent and failure of federal law enforcement agencies also should be determenid.
Mukhtar for resolving differences with MQM, Fazal
ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar said on Thursday that the government has no danger and the angered coalition partners will soon be happy and a part of the government.
Mukhtar said that the government is taking MQM’s demands regarding RGST seriously.
He further said all angered partners would be taken into confidence before doing anything and differences with Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and MQM will soon be resolved.

No CCTV cameras installed: DIG West

KARACHI: DIG West Sultan Khwaja has said that there are no closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed in the West Zone of Karachi yet.
Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza had claimed to have installed CCTV cameras in different parts of city to ensure foolproof security in sensitive areas and processions during Muharram-ul-Haram. But DIG West has negated his statement, saying that there are no CCTV cameras installed in the area. He further said that the organizers of processions are told to install cameras by themselves. PPP suspends Naheed Khan’s party membership

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) suspended party membership of Naheed Khan, a close associate of Benazir Bhutto, on Monday.
Naheed Khan said she is only responsible for the spirit of Benazir Bhutto and nothing else. “The party is not working according to the philosophy of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the founder of PPP,” she added.
She further said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani are not serious regarding the investigation of Benazir’s murder.
On the other hand, PPP Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab said Naheed Khan tried to divide the party and her membership has been suspended because she violated party discipline and rules. Trend Pk
Human trafficking on rise in Pakistan; another 16 youths missing
Around 16 youths belonging to Mandi Bahauddin, who are said to have gone to Oman in search of better fortune, have been missing for the last 15 months, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sped up its efforts to nab the 78 most-wanted human traffickers.
Director FIA (Immigration) Captain Zafar Iqbal, while talking to Dunya News, said that every year the Agency made a new red book comprising the human smugglers and send them to concerned departments and law enforcement agencies.
He further said that Baloch agents are said to be involved in the nasty smuggling.
