Blue shirts have become the new champions of cricket by getting 6 wickets victory in India vs Sri Lanka final of ICC World Cup 2011 played at Wankhede Stadium of Mumbai. Following the target, the home side goes early in trouble by losing the big wicket of Virender Sehwag. Lasith Malinga not permitted him to open his score account. World Cup 2011 250x187 India lose 7th wicket at 236 runs against PakMOHALI: India lost its seventh batsman, Harbhajan Singh, in the World Cup semifinal at 236 runs. Ajmal Saeed balled and Kamran Akmal stamped out Harbhajan after scoring 12 runs.

Earlier Pakistan took 6th Indian wicket of skipper Mahinder Singh Dhoni on 205 runs. He scored 25 runs and faced 42 balls before getting out by lbw on Wahab Riaz’s ball.

India lost its 5th wicket of Sachin Tendulkar on 187 runs. Tendulkar scored 85 runs but failed to make his historical 100th century in today’s crucial semifinal between India and Pakistan. Skipper Shahid Afridi took catch of Tendulkar on spinner Saeed Ajamal’s ball.

India lost its 4th wicket of Yuv Raj Singh on 141. Singh returned to pavilion without scoring any run as he was clean bowled by Wahab Riaz.

Before Singh, Kohli, Gambhir and Sehwag returned to the pavilion.

According to details Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. The home side goes early in trouble by losing the big wicket of Sachin Tendulkar. He can score just 2 runs. New batsman Virat Kohli, along with Gautam Gambhir added 43 runs in the second wicket partnership. Gambhir was taken by Ravi Rampaul on 22. This time, the danger man Yuvraj Singh came to join the crease with Kohli. Both players batted very sensibly and picks their side’s total to 173. On this spot Kohli goes clean bowled by Rampaul. World cup preliminary squad has been announcing by India and Irfan Pathan is not able to get his place in world cup preliminary squad. Kris Srikkanth, chairman of the selection committee said that it is the most suitable team selected for India as players has a lot of experience in playing in home conditions. The 30 men squad includes MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma, Vinay Kumar, M Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane, Saurabh Tiwary, Yusuf Pathan, Parthiv Patel, R Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha, Dinesh Karthik, Shikhar Dhawan, Amit Mishra, Piyush Chawla, Cheteshwar Pujara, Pragyan Ojha and Praveen Kumar.

So far ODI team against South Africa is also not selected and it will be announce before 12th January before first game. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara is also selected in the world cup squad. In the squad three wicket keepers are also included. Parthiv Patel, Dinesh Karthik is the other two keepers along with captain MS Dhoni.  Yousaf Pathan is also able to get his place in the squad due to his majestic inning of 123 runs against New Zealand.

India under pressure in South Africa cricket Test

CENTURION: South Africa’s fast bowlers ripped out three Indian batsmen cheaply when the first Test got under way after a rain delay at SuperSport Park here on Thursday.

India, sent in to bat, were 55 for three at tea.

Dale Steyn had Virender Sehwag caught at third man for nought before Morne Morkel struck twice within five balls to dismiss Gautam Gambhir (5) and Rahul Dravid (14).

Sachin Tendulkar was unbeaten on 22 and was the only batsman able to score boundaries in front of the wicket, twice pulling Lonwabo Tsotsobe to the fence and driving the same bowler through the covers for another four.

Gambhir was caught at first slip when he pushed away from his body and Dravid was trapped leg before wicket by a delivery which cut back sharply to provide Morkel with his 100th wicket in his 29th Test. Morkel took two wickets for four runs in seven overs,
